I am glad because there is a possibility that if we light it up on offense this season that Joe Brady gets HC offers in 2021.

The offense has the potential to be absolutely electric assuming Cam is ready to roll in September. Weapons and YAC galore. Especially so if we add someone like Jeudy, Lamb or Ruggs in the draft.

The Panthers have done something different with their coaching staff.

They hired a guy who never worked at either Baylor or Temple.

According to Joe Person of TheAthletic.com, the Panthers hired LSU offensive analyst D.J. Mangas as an offensive assistant.

While he didn’t work for coach Matt Rhule, he does have a tie to the staff, as he played and coached with offensive coordinator Joe Brady at William & Mary, and they worked together at LSU last year.

When the Panthers made their full coaching staff announcement previously, 14 of the 22 hiredworked for Matt Rhule at one of his previous stops. And two of the eight coaches with recent NFL experience on the staff played for defensive coordinator Phil Snow in college, so familiarity is a prerequisite there. Since that announcement, the Panthers have also hired a football ops guy from Baylor as well, extending the alumni chapter in Charlotte.

At least we may have someone who is capable of filling in when someone get promoted rather than sticking with old vanilla ass guys like Shula

If Brady is hiring his own offensive staff. Wouldnt it make sense if he got a hc job in a few years he would take as many of his guys that he could?

Granted the Panthers could block some. But then you have disgruntled assistants.

So I disagree with this logic.  Only because Brady hiring them. If Rhule hired them then they would be.

Not if we wanted to promote them to a coordinator role and was already under contract with us. They would be disgruntled if we blocked it and kept them in a lesser position sure.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
