A little clarification here: Whitfield isn't joining the coaching staff. PFT quoted the Panthers as saying it's a "partnership", not an on-field coaching role.

Maybe they just have on retainer for QB programs to implement throughout the offseason and to come out a few days

Move to not get a Rookie Qb killed (Okung) and Whitefield who has mentored and trained pre draft QBs for years now....idk man seems kind of a possibility but I could just be reading way too much into it
