I don't watch wrestling, but there's plenty in my age group who do.

I get it, the Wrestlers appeal to our generation a lot more than the older wrestlers do.

I used to work out at Guilford College during summers and breaks for a couple years--their gym had an agreement with the YMCA--some of the pro wrestlers (traveling in town to perform at the Greensboro Coliseum would come work out with us and rehearse there.   They were roided, obnoxious jerks for the most part, probably because we mocked their sport (in fun).  Some were cool.  I don't watch the crap so I can't tell you who they were--I remember Road Warriors and some Russian acting New Yorker (not Trump).

Hum you must mean Nelson Simpson aka Nikita Koloff, or Ivan Koloff. Anyways, I grew up in the Greensboro coliseum watching the NWA, Monarchs or Generals. Those were great days back in the mid 80’s. Rock n Roll express was as big as Def Leppard, at least around here anyways.

Absolutely! I remember Haystacks Calhoun and yes the Andersons, Ole Arn and Gene. Chief Wahoo McDaniels and Harley Race were awesome as well. People always crap on it, that’s fine, but NC is the Rasslin’ Capital of the country. It’s probably bigger in Canada but NC carries the weight for the states.
