From what I read, both of the big Charlotte banks are giving bonuses to employees who make below a certain amount of money.  Even though they aren't laying anyone off.  That is a pretty decent thing to do.

I worked for First Union/Wachovia for 10 years when i was in my 20s.  The worst part is having to vote on the top brass salary increases and bonuses every year while the rest of the company was at a strict 2% roll rate on pay increases.  So glad I have a union job now

I worked for Wachovia.  Maybe its different for various departments, but we were never on a 2% limit.

Just heard a doctor from NY say that if you avoid touching your face, you have almost zero chance of contracting the virus - obviously if you avoid sick people. Touching the face is almost always the way we get infected. That is something we can definitely control. Stay safe folks.

Agree. Takes much discipline. I was telling my wife how tough the drill instructors were on recruits if we touched our face. Well, during that 3 months, no one got sick and our complexions were perfect. I know part of that was eating healthy and drinking lots of water, but I imagine that refraining from touching the face was huge in keeping us healthy.

I had to go to Home Depot and the grocery store to pickup a few things this afternoon. First time I've been out of our neighborhood in two weeks. I was happy to see that traffic on the road was maybe 20% of normal and foot traffic was light in both stores. By and large people were doing a good job of maintaining social distancing standards. It'll probably be at least another two weeks before I have to venture out again.

Why does this sound like you hoarded a bunch of food.

Thanks for the info.  Unfortunately I am a heavy face toucher.  Not only do I touch my face in nervous ticks, I touch my face when thinking or observing something.  On top of that, anytime I think of not touching my face, I immediately feel little itches on my face.

I will try harder.

LOL! Nah, I hoarded beer. I think about half of my total was beer.

Ha!  Not knowing what the next step is here in Virginia Beach, I decided to spend my lunch hour stocking up on beer and liquor, just in case.  I grabbed a big 1.75L of tequila, a 1.75L of vodka and then four 12 packs of IPA.  Unfortunately I got into a car accident on the way home after work.  It felt slightly awkward with the tow truck driver and Uber driver watching me transfer all that beer and liquor, but it is what it is. LOL

Not touching your face is hard for anyone.  My hands get real dirty at work and I cant stand to wear gloves, so over the years I have learned to use my forearm or back of my hand to touch my face.  If i cant get to it the way i use the inside of my shirt.

I can see how this would be very hard. People touch their faces without even think or know they are doing it. It makes sense though. I have been trying to discipline myself not to do it

    • Very Odd, seems someone is lying about the "love" between Seattle and canales.  I did read some about B.johnson and he said he wanted a stable good job and that 5 out 8 teams that filled this past season, will be open again in three years. I somewhat get his point, but he's lost millions the past two years waiting. Plus great job are never open cause great team don't fire their HCs. He put lots of time and sweat into the lions and wanted to enjoy the good times longer.    I do think tepper made other coaches not want to be here. That all-star staff had as you stated had connections around the league and coaches are no different when someone contracts them and goes " How was it Carolina ??'.... " Love the area, hated the work environment/owner". They did get Brian Callahan to interview and had a 2nd one lined up, but in just one interview titans hired him. I'd much rather had him or just name evero HC instead.  Nobody wanted Ron Rivera either and he interviewed everywhere. No one wants this job..... even the jags got recent SB winning Doug Peterson.... I truly think Carolina coaching rep is in the dump and they fuged up waiting for Callahan. Panic move. This is my pure guess too, Jim Caldwell is the acting/real HC and canales is the OC.
    • I go back to the hole the Panthers put themselves in and his positive track record with getting production from ‘problem’ QBs. Which, we have one.  I go to the idea people were putting forth on these younger HC prospects - that maybe you take a guy early and let him grow and give him all the help you can. Like a QB go figure. I think that is pretty much where it is right now. I think Canales could be good.
    • It's like with Friterer was the same as Canales. 'He's a great guy' and everyone loves him but Seattle had a HC opening with ties and no interview, even with a playoff appearance in a weak NFCS to boost his name. The NFL is all about ties and connections. It's so much more a small pond than most sectors could be so the corporate NFL bs is sooooo much thicker. All of those openings and no HC interviews? B Johnson is an anomaly, like a Kiffin, where usually you have guys that will go whereever to take a promotion even if it looks terrible for a distance, Wilks to Arizona comes to mind. It's weird and interesting how the NFL mirrors and then deviates from the rest of corporate America in their MOs.
