We have about 18" of snow on the ground from yesterday. We're at least 6 weeks out from sustained warmer weather here.

Reading the article I posted earlier would make my statement make a lot more sense.  Explains a lot of NYC woes also, that and the fact that they are packed in so tightly that social distancing and not touching surfaces is almost impossible.  NYC is almost like it's own cruise ship.

I went from thinking they were bioengineering diseases in Wuhan to thinking about the 5g to now actually taking this pretty seriously.
We wore gloves at work all week. I work at O'reilly Auto as a commercial manager dealing with all of your local repair shops. It was pretty much normal business on our end this week with a slight taper off at the end. Most of the franchise places were a bit slower but your mom and pop places with repeat business were still keeping on. We are considered essential business so.. i bet they'll stay running but I'm thinking about pulling the plug for myself.
I have lung issues and I have better plans for my death than this bullshit.

Just to put it into perspective, just the Denver metro area is over 8000 square miles. There are only 3500 in the entire Colorado National Guard. That's roughly one person for every 2.3 square miles. Meanwhile, there's almost 3 million residents in those 8000 square miles.

That's not gonna work unless people willingly comply in which case it's unnecessary to begin with.

I don't think they do it with belief that force is neccessary for every person..it makes people take it serious if nothing else.

I had already read it earlier today. I just didn't want to post it, because like I said, I'm kinda torn on sharing it. I think it's good info, but I'm kinda of the mind that people need to be a little irrationally scared of this right now or else they won't listen to the guidelines that will save a lot of high risk people if they're followed.

This is really assigning a lot of blame to our current administration--mirroring Trumps on words throughout this process--but it's hard to argue with. And, it shows how partisan politics is really not the game you want to be playing, when real leadership is required.

Honestly, it is our current administration’s inability to effectively lead that scares me the most. I keep talking about martial law, this administration is the reason I think it will happen at some point. I am independent, so I’m trying to remain in the middle. Facts are much less disputed when you are not wearing red or blue colored shades. The answer here is not throwing money at the problem, it is listening to the experts, and making tough choices to make a difference. I’m not sure any previous American leader in the last 40 years would have fared any better honestly.

What are the main constitutional rights you are seeing infringed upon presently?

All criminal courts are being delayed which impacts the right to a speedy trial.  This is especially true for people in jail who are awaiting trial. Child custody and other hearings are on hold. Parents have a constitutional right to parent their children. If the other parent just decides they don’t want to allow visitation to occur then too bad, it isn’t happening until court starts back. There are numerous other examples as well, but I dont want to bore you.

What do you mean by martial law? Do you think the military is going to show up and start shooting people on site?

No, martial law mean habeas corpus will be suspended. That means our local law enforcement and court system could be superseded by some form of the military. I think large cities where residents will need to remain in doors will be the ones effected. It means residents will be forced to remain isolated, without their consent. I think this is the last line of defense and if it happens then our government has run out of options. That’s my opinion.
