I've lost belief in Tepper already. Rhule too. Best of luck to the greatest, most impactful player in Panthers' history, Cam Newton..

This team seems as rudderless as it’s ever been and Rhule has already violated many of the things he promised at the presser. Mainly honesty with players. It’s gonna be a mess for awhile

What has Rhule lied about? He’s not the GM.

Where are the "lies" I keep hearing people talk about?

This is the exact poo he’s gonna hide behind. His I’m just the guy who coaches them line is gonna get old quick. He’s sitting in on all the meetings, he has a 7 year contract to build his program for the team. The guy knows everything and he has a big voice in every move we make. If he thinks that bullshit is going to work with vets or anyone with a brain he’s going to be in for a surprise. Not fond of his loophole remarks. Everything Rhule says is written by his lawyer sprinkled with his sermon says on top.

"If Cam is healthy he's an MVP"

"If Cam is healthy he's the best"

"If"

Cam hasn't been healthy for 5 years now. Cam's MVP season in 2015 was baller as all hell and the most fun I have ever had as a fan of any sport, but that was a long, long time ago in terms of the NFL.

Right now, Cam is an unknown commodity. Teddy, while definitely a step down from a HEALTHY Cam, is a known commodity especially in the new offensive scheme that we will be running. Cam is an unknown both in health and in how he will look in the new offense. Removing all emotion, it makes sense in that regard. If Teddy ends up sucking, we can still draft the franchise QB next draft between either fields or Lawrence because Teddy isn't good enough to put the team on his back and win us more than 6 games.

I get you're upset that Cam is leaving, and it really does feel botched all around, but Cam is NOT the best player in our franchise's history. Cam had 1 amazing season a, few above average ones, and a solid half riddled with injury at this point. Luke was overall, a better player. Smitty, was overall, a better player, and Peppers, overall, was a better player. Cam however, was probably the most important player we've ever had. The first true franchise QB of a young franchise, Rivera rode him into the ground, never protected him properly, and refused to let him truly rest until the wheels had already fallen off. It's a shame.

You are making a lot of assumptions with nothing to back up what you write though.

Read any article about Rhule being a program builder, making decisions for the team, what Tepper thinks of him, etc. That’s my back up. Your assumption that Rhule sits in a closet and waits to hear how the team is doing from Hurney of all people is insane and backed up by nothing.

I wouldn't call it lying, but it was pretty easy for people to make assumptions based on what he said.

If you've been watching football for a while though, you have to know how to listen to what they say. If you don't, you wind up thinking they promised you something that they really didn't.

One minute they want cam, then they don’t. This staff has been jerking around the team leader all offseason and believe me other players notice and remember that poo

The process could have been handled better, but if anyone uses Cam's accolades in the past (remember, 3 winning seasons in 9 years), to justify a future decision, you are using emotion.  Cam deserves to be treated with dignity--like Brady was--and I was at the time and still am angry how he was used by RR to help him keep his job.  I said all along, the beating they are asking him to take would take its toll.  Don't get mad at Mr Scot, Me, Snow, or anyone else who saw this.  Due to these circumstances, it was a necessary move--Cam is at best a big question mark.  He has had 1 good season in the past four.   If you cheered when Cam took on a DB to get a first down, it was put on the tab.  If you watched him run the option and get speared in the head and did not complain about running the option, then you added that to the tab.  For years, Cam's heroics mounted and that is what you see now--some of us, however, see the bill.  It is now due.

Our franchise is run by a bunch of drunks.  I tried to buy in on Rhule, but if this is his plan, it sucks.  And at this point, under Tepper, all I see are breadcrumbs that lead me to believe he is an impulsive, meddling owner - to a much greater degree than JR was.  I dont really get a sense of a master plan at the end of all these seemingly random impulse moves, but rather a rich big boy who gets to tear down his playset and then fix it how he likes, just to tear it down again.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.  I understand Cam was hurt the last few years, and ironically not from all of the running he did over the years that everyone was worried about, but in fact because he couldnt be protected in the pocket by two different GMs.  But, if he returns to form, he is 2000x the player Bridgewater is and 10,000x the player Allen is.  If he returns to form, you're getting an MVP caliber player for relative peanuts.  Letting Cam go at this juncture feels like a mistake of a move that we're going to regret down the line.

Back to Bridgewater - to add further insult to injury, nothing against Teddy, but Cam fell out of favor after repeatedly getting injured behind a porous OL.  Cam, at 6'5" 260 lbs, couldn't stay healthy.  Now you expect the same GM to build said OL to keep a much more slight-framed Bridgewater healthy, all while paying him quite handsomely...  and mind you, Bridgewater also doesnt have the escapability of arm strength of a Cam...  seems like a solid plan.

And furthermore, not only do I think you're botching the on-field product up,  ut you really couldn't have done much worse in the optics and presentation of all of this.  We went from he's gone, to "I'm gonna win a Superbowl with him," to Cam declaring with absolute certainty that he was led to believe he would be back, to Hurney being non-committal, to now today, our team signing an inferior replacement and then telling Cam publicly to go find another team while thanking him for how great he is.  Sloppy.

I will always be a Panthers fan, but I feel less invested than ever before.  I'm just tired of bad move after bad move and stupidity running rampant, regardless of who is in charge.  We'll see how all of this plans out, and maybe Bridgewater ends up being fine...  as Panthers fan, we have to pull for him and the best outcome, but man, this just looks and feels bad.

And finally, thank you for all you have done here, Cam.  You are a legend of untouchable stature now and forever.  In your prime, there never has been and never will be anyone like you.  In a gladiator's sport, you were the ultimate gladiator...  one who could put an entire team of 52 other players on your back and carry them to the endzone, time and time again.  It has been an honor to see you grow, mature, and become the incredible player and humanitarian you have become - all while wearing the black and blue.  There will never be another Cam Newton - the greatest player in Panthers' history.  Period.

I know you feel bad and are entitled to your opinion, but I'd like to point out that Cam didn't learn NOT to take a hit until he was already damaged. I think Bridgewater will make better decisions in that regard.
