What is Rhule supposed to say? Cam didnt play for him. Tepper has already commented. Why does everyone have to say something? Cam isnt dead. It is a business. Players don't stay forever.

Yeah, they act like Cam didn’t get paid millions to play a game here.

Pure speculation. The Panthers lost any leverage when they announced the Bridgewater signing. That's been flown around by pundits that's been doing this for awhile since the notion of signing Bridgewater became a reality. C'mon guy.

If more than 1 team was interested in Cam why would the competition be any less or more in free agency vs. under contract?

What a fugging joke. To get absolutely nothing in return for Cam has got to be the absolute biggest blunder in franchise history. You have an MVP caliber QB under contract for 1yr only 20mil and you’re too stupid to see if he’s healthy. If he shows he can play you either have your QB, can trade him for value, or can at the very least get a comp for him. What a fugging stupid ass decision.

Word was they released an Instagram tribute, but other than that having Tepper and Rhule say nothing is probably gonna irk fans.

What the hell Tepper only had team for two years and never hardly seen Cam play because he was hurt. Rhule definitely doesn't have to say anything. He never coached Newton, damn people over react.

So WHERE is the perfect fit for his style??? Cam is his own style, so u either have to adapt to him (whomever you are) OR he has to show he can become something else but... Chargers? Pats? Broncos? Dolphins? Aren’t running his style of O either...

It definitely was an entertaining 8 years (I say 8 since we didn't play him last year). Y'all always gave us a pretty good fight with Newton and we had some absolute wars and memorable games:

  • 2011 Week 5: Smith catches a huge TD and a melee erupts in the endzone after a late hit by Harper
  • 2013 Weeks 14 and 16: battle for the division lead on SNF in New Orleans then the monsoon game in Charlotte for the division title coming down to the final seconds
  • 2014 Weeks 9 and 14: we drag y'all on a cold Thursday night in Charlotte (after playing the Packers on SNF), then y'all wax us in New Orleans and another melee erupts in the endzone
  • 2015 Weeks 3 and 13: the game we started McCown (who played admirably) before foolishly trying to throw a jump ball to 5'10" Brandin Cooks of all WR's in the endzone only to get picked off and end the game, then in New Orleans Cam tries hotdogging into the endzone and gets blasted into orbit by Michael Mauti, but still wins the game with a 5 TD-1 INT performance and a 122.1 QB rating
  • 2016 Weeks 6 and 11: both slugfests resulting in the home team kicking a game-winning FG
  • 2017 Wild Card: wild playoff game of trading blows and essentially coming down to the wire

10 crazy games out of the 16 he played against us. He still has a better record against us (7-9) than Matt Ryan's sorry *** does (9-14) as well. While I'm sure our games will have some spice with Bridgewater there (and by extension Kirkwood), they won't come close to any of the games listed above.

Definitely the end of an era. Maybe we'll run into him again but if not, take care, old friend...

When was the last time he was MVP caliber? That matters.

People on here thought we could land a first for him. He hasn’t been healthy in three years. You aren’t gonna find many teams will to part with picks for a guy that they can’t trust will see the field all 16 games for them

It's all speculation. But ask yourself why a QB who has been out for the lion's share of two seasons, has has two major shoulder surgeries and a foot surgery, and has lost his last six starts should command anything on the open market? I mean, it would be different if Cam wasn't so injury-riddled, but that's not the reality. Cam hasn't been right for a long time, even admitting that he had issues throwing the ball 30 or 40 yards. As a GM, I wouldn't trade for that! Now I would probably take a flier on him, sure, but give up picks for him...That's a tough sale any way you want to slice it!

Because you'd have some leverage, as in if he is perceived to be healthy instead of talked about by the team flippantly, we could've at least got something more than a 3rd or even picks and a player. He could've passed his physical earlier and latched on to a team by now as well as garnered the Panthers something in return instead of the poo show and lack of return that transpired. If they where gonna move on, do so like a competent organization would. That's just my two cents on it.
