Brown will make KK and Burns play better and keep blockers off Shaq and Whitehead. We need a CB next..

I wanted Simmons, but Brown is a monster DT and a need. I will feel much better if we choose a top CB in round 2 tomorrow.

I thought everyone was cool with the pick either being Brown or Simmons.  Interesting reactions.  With that said, this is the first pick that I've felt good with in a long while.  I mean that's not saying much of anything.  I wasn't too enthusiastic when we picked Cam or Kuechly.  I was happy with picking McCaffrey.  Yet in spite of all that, again, this is the first pick I've been excited about since I've been watching Panthers drafts.

Rhule made the pick as he's looking to "win now".

Most other coaches can find a space eater later in the draft, instead of 7th overall. Unfortunately he's going to learn the hard way you can't win the NFL without a QB.

Derrick Brown is the worst first round pick since Dave Gettleman's blunders. A space eater that has one pass rushing move, strength, and nothing else. A historically bad combine showing limited athleticism, and tape showing nothing more than strength, motor, but also poor balance and little agility.

I expect much of the rest of the draft to go similarly, reaches to fill holes, "safe" picks.

Brown is this years "next Aaron Donald", except he isn't athletic. These guys are busting at an insanely high rate lately. If you don't believe me go through the last 10 years and look at first round DTS, their bust rate, and even on hits how long they're productive in the league.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
