Its refreshing to see. All out effort to fix what could have been the worst D in nfl history.

Just everyone is young there now, but so what.

Let them grow together and take their lumps this year

No idea how this year plays out (probably notl record wise) but at least I can stomach young guys going through growing pains vs our previous high price defense get worn out

6th and 7th rounders might not make the 53 but that is going to be a fast secondary.

If youre using the past, that would be right. But with this D and Rhule, they should make it easy. 6th was a Baylor DT, right now hes the top backup at DT. CB has no one but a struggling Donte Jackson, he may get a injury red shirt but its WIDE-DEE-HELL open there.

I'm referring to UDFAs and other teams cuts still to come.

The 7th is a project who probably shouldn't see the field year 1, but I can see how Roy could have an role carved out.

yea, they should bring loads of players at CB and DT.  I heard long ago most 6/7 draft picks are players teams wanted but didnt feel they could sign as UDFA. They are not BPA on their big board.

You also have to consider the shift in defensive philosophy.

Ron Rivera believed in pass rush, pass rush and more pass rush. He believed you could stick pretty much anybody on the back end and still be effective as long as your guys up front were getting to the passer. John Fox wasn't really all that different, so it's been the Panthers way for a long time.

Phil Snow isn't like that. From what I've read on him, he's more of a believer in a balanced approach to the defense.
