In which I stay positive and the Panthers haters rage

I look at the defense as very exciting for the future. 5 guys getting legit NFL experience, and developing at 22 years of age. Those guys playing together long term as they continue to get better is going to be fun to watch. Plug in some vets in the mean time and maybe draft a stud LB in the next few years to solidify that D.

Pride, Chinn, Matos, Brown, Burns are 22 years old!

And all of them are capable starters and should only get better.

I'm concerned about the offense, mainly the OLine future. Moton is okay, but not great and already 26. Little isn't good enough at 23 so they had to go get a vet. Daley is good I guess?

But everyone else is 27 or older and they don't seem all that good. There needs to be a major focus on drafting OL high and building that squads future.

Moore is good but not great. Other than CMC who will step up to be the next wave of offensive talent? Thomas is a no show.

One thing I'll say is that for an offensive minded coaching staff to go out and shore up the future of the defense in their first draft, is a bold move.

Now maybe this next draft will be all about finding young offensive talent.

Give this staff and these players 2 years and let's see if they are playoff ready by 2022-2023 season.

I see that but for cams entire tenure there were cam haters. There were people on these boards who use to argue Delhomme was a better QB than Cam. There were people last year saying Kyle Allen was better than cam. There has always been negativity around here, but there has never been this push where you were considered a panther hater. Just fascinating to me now that cam is gone Jeremy is pushing everything is rainbows and butterflies.

I understand that there are some positives, but there is a proven track record here that there is nothing to be excited about as long as Marty hurney is employed.

I think you are probably reading a little too much into it. Igo clearly ended up being largely anti-Cam over time but that was definitely not always the case. Nor has the board always been negative towards Cam. It was largely the opposite when we were successful as a team.

Let's not call it an outlier, I'd say the board was about 60/40 split on Bridgewater and largely still is. You aren't going to see universal buy-in on many players. Think about how many critics we have seen for all of our great players here.

We've talked about how it will be a bad year for 8 months. Nothing is a surprise starting 0-2. Its amusing to see all the crying.

Did the people who mentioned how bad the team woud be with every post since January not believe themselves?

Then the crowd that said we would be too good and whined about that.....lol

You’re not wrong. Also to run a panthers message board and to be anti cam is actually laugh out loud funny.

It'll be interesting to see how we do if CMC misses time. Per the sideline reporter, the Bucs' defenders straight up admitted that stopping #22 was pretty much their entire focus yesterday.

Ya, That was another thing I was going to mention. Teams pretty much know if they double team 22 and blitz us.. we have no chance.

Yeah, I don't know why he moved that way. Maybe it was as simple as him just not ever being healthy. I know he was firmly in the "he's completely done physically" camp, which is not really looking like a good take at the moment. If he lasts a full season in NE, that won't age well at all.

My thing that makes me shake my head. Is on paper, did people really think this team would be competitive? The offensive line is atrocious, the defensive line is starting two Rookies (one was out yesterday). They signed Teddy Bridgewater, and for some odd reason he got hype in the offseason. Why? I don't know. Then, we put a guy that wasn't "fast enough" for OLB at MLB. Straight from the HC's mouth, and our secondary is better with a Undrafted Rookie FA, than the actual people we drafted. Did people really think this type of roster was going to compete? Because the Panthers fans that I text and know, all said we were going to "suck." On here, is the only place I saw where people thought we would be competitive.

And sure there are positives, especially with Chinn, and that undrafted Rookie CB playing well. Those are what we need to find in our games, those positives.

Well, to be fair, we have been competitive in many respects, but we were never going to be a threat for postseason activities (except for going fishing).

The pushing of everything is great let’s be positive narrative has been extremely weird. I don’t know if it’s better for business around here or what l, but it’s been very weird. I don’t remember this attitude when cam was still around. Either way it is absolutely ridiculous to think that way when Marty Hurney is still employed by this team. There is no future or possible positive outcome with him still employed. This has been proved over 2 decades.

can you imagine any other franchise allowing a cam newton to walk out the door on a 1 year contract and getting literally nothing in return? Then to make things worse they go out and sign an inferior quarterback for more money and longer term. If you’re trying to spin that as a positive then you have an agenda.

You're absolutely right.

This "positive narrative" around here is a sight to see. Very disingenuous.

After watching TB and TB float dying ducks all over the field yesterday, it was almost shocking to the system watching Cam and Wilson throwing lasers last night.

I noticed early in the game, especially from the replay camera angles, that Teddy's tight spiral on the throws wasn't there. Is there something wrong with his hand or shoulder that wasn't reported? There is video of him doing better.

We don't have good interior lineman because Hurney let the two that we had walk. Daley may work out, I hope he does, once he's back from injury but that then points to a serious lack of good depth.

If CMC can't go next game, expect to see more of Samuel running the ball. We tried a little trickery with this and we may take it further.

All they have from the game is teaching moments. For both players and coaches. That's what college teams do, that's what Rhule will do.

Jeremy is suggesting we settle for watching as if it's pee wee football for now. No. I expect more from an NFL team.

They have been competitive in both games.
