Talking Chargers - What do you know?

Starting a very poor man's version of Teddy at QB. Lots of receiving weapons including the poor man's CMC in Austin Ekeler.

15th in Passing Offense, 17th in Rushing Offense on Football Outsiders

11th in Passing Defense, 15th in Rushing Defense on Football Outsiders

They have the 11th highest Adjusted Sack Rate, so they do a good job of getting to the QB. It will be a challenging day for Teddy in the pocket again.

Correction: They are actually 22nd in Adjusted Sack Rate, which is a little surprising. So Teddy might actually be able to sit back and pick them apart.

That is actually encouraging.

What in the goddamn fug???

Shouldn't that say, "former" team doctor?

We will get to see a QB that might have been on our radar as an option in the '20 draft. I watched some of the LAC-KC game and Herbert looked good. Not Mahomes good, but smart and managed the game well without making a lot of mistakes, good.

I'm sure part of it was the Chiefs preparing for Tyrod, so Carolina will have some tape on Herbert now.

Hopefully we break out and get some sacks this weekend....especially with the familiarity that Okung and our OL coach have with their system.

Probably not enough for a win, but this is a game on the schedule that should be circled as "winable"

Their D is fuging good, really good. Herbert played well last game but is still a rookie, so who knows what'll happen with him. Their OL is questionable, not sure how Turner has played his first couple games there though. They have some pretty solid weapons when they're healthy with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Hunter Henry (what could've been, Igo...) and Austin Ekeler is no scrub.

I think they'll compete for a wildcard in the AFC, especially with the expanded playoffs. I'd be surprised if this game is as close as the last 2, they should take care of us pretty easily, especially without McCaffrey going up against their D.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
