That was with a preseason and normal offseason...not saying Brown will be star level like Kuechly, but cmon...give the dude some time, especially this year with the lack of preseason. 

well he was playing OLB his first few games until the beason injury/benching. i don't remember if it was negative or not. 

after that it was full steam ahead

People see a DL and expect a sack quota to be met.  Brown is disrupting regardless.

We saw what he's capable of when the line was a bit more evenly matched/the DEs jobs were a tad easier, the pocket was collapsing.

Outside of the QB situations - which i have a feeling is on our owner - this is one of the best off-season in terms of draft prospect quality and FA acquisitions i remember. Maybe the best overall, although that is partly due to how many holes we had.

Derrick was really good yesterday and big part of the reason for that defensive performance. People who only look at sacks are ignorant and have no business posting on forums.

How anyone can be extremely down on a rookie after only 2 or 3 games is beyond my comprehension...especially this year...although I shouldn't be surprised that some on here are, due to the position that Brown plays.  Contributions don't always show on the stat sheet.  Dude is going to be just fineee

That is how you end up with a defense that leads the league in ypc allowed, like we did last year.  Our stopgaps last year were due to injury and getting old, but the stopgaps got pushed around and abused.

The only DTs signing for that much are rookies and the Nick Haydens of the world.
