It's not out of the question. Honestly, the NBA "bubble" concept was the way to go, but it's a lot harder with football because there's a lot more people involved.

they would need a small city

I agree with your overall point, but I think the biggest difference here is that the general public doesn't really care about the health of the people at those jobs or in those schools.

The spotlight is shined far brighter on this than those situations.  This is about PR as much as anything else.  There is only so much the NFL can stand by and say "positive cases are going to happen" (which just irks me typing that out) before it starts to look terrible on their end for not stepping up like the NBA did.

Then again, I could be wrong and the NFL just don't even give a damn.

And I agree with that too.  Which is why I think the actual outcome of the cases will impact the NFL decisions.  Cam just asymptomatic?  Which is a lot of COVID.  Will be a lot of the NFL given the mass and consistent testing. Sits a week or two  and is back? Life moves on in the NFL.  Someone has a battle similar to the flu and gets knocked down several days and comes back.  Life moves on in the NFL.  I think that is what they are prepared for.

Covid does a number on somebody? I think that stops the NFL IMO.

They dont even have to do all that. They can mandate that players and personnel stay at team facilitaties in each respective city, ensure that all contact with the outside world is only as needed and adhering to strict guidelines. From pilots to bus drivers, kitchen staff, security, refs--everyone!

This is what I thought was going to be the plan. So, players and team personnel are allowed to live normally outside of games and practice? If so, then yea, it’s going to get much worse as we move forward into the season

Cam is the poster child of someone who won’t be badly affected by Covid, a young high performance athletic vegan.

true, but he is a huge guy, that can lead to heart issues that covid can sometimes target.  That said, Cam will almost assuredly be fine

They can't just mandate that without NFLPA approval.

At very minimum the NFLPA would likely require reopening the opt out window for players.

Just saw this ...

I think they meant 10 days though. But still ... lol.

And no way this game is played on Tuesday.

They would definitely have to then move the Thursday night game in that scenario then.

    • Bingo. The dude is a baller no doubt and I'd love to have him in a vacuum but like you said he's gonna fetch a haul so the only teams it really makes sense for are teams with an overall good roster who they feel an edge rusher like Crosby would out them over the top in terms of competing for SBs. I'd be looking st teams like the Pats, Bucs, Ravens, Seahawks, etc. It wouldn't be shocking to see him moved. He may be more valuable to a rebuilding team in the form of the draft assets he'd fetch than he is on the field. He should still have several more good years in the tank at 28 but by the time the Raiders can reasonably expect to rebuild he's gonna be on the decline.
    • Crosby will garner a haul in a trade. I would be reluctant to make that trade because of the following: 1. Our overall roster is awful. We cannot afford to be trading away valuable draft capital. 2. He isn't the best fit(IMO) for the scheme that Evero runs.  I love the player but it would really need to be at a reasonable deal and I think he is likely to garner an unreasonable price if he gets traded.
    • In terms of need, EDGE is currently #1. Our pass rush is near league worst levels. However, I don't subscribe to "need" based drafting. BPA all day.  We do need to dramatically upgrade over Scourton, Jones, Wonnum and Umanmielen. That is likely in the running for the NFL's worst two deep. Not saying all those players are bad, but I am saying 100% of those players are 2nd or 3rd stringers.
