Surprised? D. Hopkins

Let's see how they look this week vs Atlanta.  While the Falcons haven't been good this year, they have always been good against us.  And those receivers are pretty darn good.  At 6'1" and 6'3" those are not good matchups for Donte.

Fair enough, but even as a decoy we limited Murray to less than 200 yds.

Injuries are part of the game and adapting to them are another part of it.   If he was on the field than he's is an asset for the offense.

He was targeted 9 times with 7 catches.  Seems we bottled him up.

As far at the catch that didn't count.  That was great defense.

he also still nearly managed the greatest catch in nfl history but the ball was thrown out of bounds

But Marvin McNutt doesn't play for the Cardinals...

Throwback reference to 2013 for the uninitiated.

The Cardinals were playing the short game as demonstrated by Murray's passing chart. He got catches but they weren't pushing it downfield

They were playing the short game because our secondary took away the long game, thus, the OP’s point.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
