uh he actually almost had a career ending knee injury

right, but those couple years of recovery spared him some of that wear and tear, which ostensibly extends his window of playing well.

OP is premature imo but he's looking better than a lot of options out there for damn sure and my pining for lawrence has all but faded into obscurity.

So many better takeaways from the game.

Journeyman running back showing up when the teams star went down.

DJ Moore making a big play at the half to open the game up.

Offensive play calling spreading the ball around.

Defense coming up with a couple big plays to help seal the win.

Curtis Samuel actually being a valuable part of the offense.

Lawrence is almost assuredly out of play for us, even if we were to lose out (which we won't). Which is great news. I'm thrilled that our wins have come this early and not in garbage time late in the season. There's a good chance we'll be playing meaningful games in late December this year unlike the last 2 years, which I will 100% take over getting a shot at a great prospect in Lawrence.

Every game this year has been exciting, and with the state of the NFL, we should be playing exciting football the rest of the season.  Win or lose, this team is coached well and fighting hard.  Next week is a BIG test.

(AP) — It had been a while since the Carolina Hurricanes had finished practice, with players coming and going from the locker room. Yet Logan Stankoven was still on the ice, leaving a crowd of reporters patiently waiting at his locker. Such is the dynamic for the 23-year-old as the Eastern Conference's top seed heads into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Stankoven has been rolling at nearly a point-per-game pace going back to mid-March, including scoring in every game of Carolina's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Beyond the immediacy of that spotlight, though, is the other piece of Stankoven's story: the Hurricanes are betting he can keep growing into the role as second-line center, coming after spending multiple seasons searching for an answer there.
