I hate the Falcons. Go read their message board.

Watching their glorious collapse has been a delight to watch. Their board reads a lot like the Panthers board did in late 2019. Hopeless, pathetic, and negative.

What makes me nervous is they might target Joe Brady or at the very least, lose out and get Trevor Lawrence and a decent coaching staff and turn things around quickly. If we are any example, a new coaching staff can turn a sorry roster into a competitive team in one offseason.

that's the first thing i did after they broke quinn getting axed. they've lost all hope of winning and are mostly just glad for the change.

theyre all convinced matt ryan is washed up too and will need a total rebuild, which is great to see

I think they have enough talent that they can win enough games with an interim coach to take them out of the Lawrence/Fields sweepstakes. They could be in position for Lance but I think they're more likely to stick with Ryan who has not been the issues this year or last. I guess they could target Brady but I kinda doubt he gets any legit HC interest this early. I worry they get Bieniemy from the Chiefs and he proves to be as good as many think he is.

In their defense, Matt Ryan really did look like poo today. They might be right about him being washed. If he is though, they're fuged. There's still about $50M in guaranteed money left in his contract AFTER this season.

Ryan was atrocious today.

They have major cap issues, and Ryan's deal is at the heart of it.  I think they had to have consulted Hurney on that contract.  They have some talent, but as a team they are aging rapidly, expensive, and have a bad habit of checking out of games before the win is sealed.

Dimitroff's chair has to be feeling pretty warm these days, too.

They have one more year of Matt Ryan until they can cut him loose without a big cap hit. Good opportunity to draft a young QB and break him in. Either way this Falcons team couldn’t get any worse. They remind me a lot of late 2019 Panthers. If they hire a good staff, that team will turn around quickly.

The falcons next three are the most winnable on their schedule I think they pick off at least one maybe two of Lions/Broncos/Vikings...  The Jets on the other hand IMO are going to be the nfls third 0-3 team.

Reads a lot like our message board a few weeks ago

That’s why we need Quinn to get fired now and the interim coach gets them to win a few games and not draft Lawrence.  I don’t think Brady will be gone after only one year.

    • And those targets are mostly going to TMac, who will be a part of the FUTURE of the team. Did it remove the most reliable WR and Bryce's safety blanket? Absolutely. But it's also allowing him to build better chemistry with TMac, Stephens, Horn, Evans, etc. I am pumped to see Coker back and hopefully they can reignite that connection.
    • It's the same thing that made Bryce the #1 overall pick. I've never seen such mass delusion about a football player before. Everyone convinced themselves that the fact that Bryce was below to severely below average in practically every physical attribute for an NFL QB just wouldn't matter because he has everything else you need and that'll more than make up for it. When has such an argument ever been made for an NFL prospect before? We watch prospects plummet every year because they run a couple tenths slower in the 40 time than expected. Smitty had everything you want in a receiver except he was 5'9" so he goes in the 3rd round. That's the way these things generally go. If you check a lot of boxes but leave some key ones unchecked you're not an elite prospect. With Bryce though, the physically limitations were always obvious so it gave more time to be able to build that into the equation and come up with reasons for why he'd be able to overcome it. Now we have all these same shortcomings having shone brightly on the NFL field and we STILL have people trying to convince themselves he'll be able to overcome it while ignoring that our past two wins and his improved play have come while riding the back of RB putting up GOAT RB production over the past two weeks. What changed wasn't Bryce. What changed is that Rico is playing out of his damn mind. Pretty much every NFL roster caliber QB can shine if he can get 200+ yards out of the RB behind him.
    • I'm gonna manifest that poo!
