Why are so many people so mad?

We are competing with better football teams every week despite being at a significant talent deficit. Everyone expected us to have one of the worst if not the worst defense in the league. We're actually slightly above average on D. Who would have expected us to hardly be missing a step on offense despite missing CMC multiple weeks?

We should be getting smoked yet we're in every game. This staff is doing a helluva job. If you were expecting a winning season, that's on you. They tried to tell you they were looking at a five year plan and weren't looking for quick fixes. As far as I'm concerned the rebuild is ahead of schedule.

Yes this x1000. Already leaps and bounds beyond expectations and overall future looks way way way brighter than any other team in the division. We will be dominant for not 1 or 2 years but for awhile once we get to where we need talent wise.

Yup.  We're doing fine.  Had no expectations going into the season and the fact that we're so competitive speaks wonders to the crew we brought in.

I did think we would have a bit more of a punch on offense but it's just hard to gauge without CMC.  Only punted once today without him against a good Saints defense.

Things are trending up and the fact people are itching for the wins/pissed about not pulling this out tells me its more about where we're at.  Knowing we're competitive rather than in tank mode which is honestly great.  Many of the top team found the current top QBs by continuing to compete and not just falling apart.  KC, SEA, GB, TN, etc.

Pretty much, I mean unless Jesus flies down here and heals Tre Boston of his chronic ineptitude and blesses whitehead with the power of the lord then we won't be holding ATL and the Saints to better than 27 and under...which itself is basically already a miracle.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
