took a whole different coaching staff to figure out how to use Samuel

rivera and co kept trying to get him to lineup like DJ Moore. Run routes, beat man coverage, come back to the ball, run block etc. And that's just not him at all.

I've always said Samuel would thrive somewhere like KC where the coaches know how to scheme open receivers, and that obviously wasn't going to happen under the previous regime.

Now there's nowhere for him on the field most of the time. He's at best a number 3 receiver or RB.

But Brady and Ruhle have figured out he's lethal on third downs, and thank god for it because the Panthers are constantly in them.

Samuel does a lot of things good but nothing great. He's fantastic at shedding a single defender and he has good hands. Linebackers basically can't match up with him, and he has the versatility to move behind the QB if they think they have favorable matchups for running.

Just another example of this coaching staff making the best of what we have and knowing how to put players in a position to succeed.

I'm not sure i can agree with you about most of your post. As seen by his consistent 3rd down conversions he obviously can beat man zone or whatever else kind of coverage you want him to beat. Yes, he can infact be a legitimate wr.. the difference here is the play calling is far superior. At best a 3? Umm i think thats about his middle of his potential yes. I dont see any reason he can't be a 2. Not behind anderson and Moore of course but, he gets open pretty frequently.

His hands aren't as bad as most make them out to be either.

Curtis is playing lights out. He gets the yardage needed and his versatility was always his selling point. The ability to move him in and out of the backfield doesn't make him a gadget player but more of an audible weapon for the QB. Beyond the plays where he gets the ball, just simply moving him around pre-snap can give more information than you'd get moving a normal receiver, tight end or RB.

Brady has done a great job of not just utilizing him, but also of coaching him up and restoring confidence in him. Samuel is simply playing better over all.

Now imagine both him and CMC out there at the same time, rotating to and from the line.

In the end, we have a completely respectable set of WRs out there now and RBs who are a threat to receive as well. If we just had a TE...

Was thinking about this exact thing this morning. He is finally producing. Rivera tried to make him a down field Tedd Ginn type threat. Robby is that now.

Samuel is an ideal 3rd down guy. But will he accept that kind of pay or move on?

If it’s that or out of the NFL, I’m sure Samuel will take what he can get. His career up to this season was pretty lackluster
