Tell that to Joe Thomas and those Browns offensive linemen that were nasty for damn near a decade.

You have a point. My problem is that we are starting to talk about the draft in week 3 !!!! Something has to happen.

I'm in the camp that you never tank a team to get a high draft pick .  The patriots never tanked and most always picked last .

Players want to win and coaches want to win . Its up to the GM to draft the right players  Jake got us to the SB and he was not a high draft pick .  To be a consistent winner you will always pick later in the draft so you must have a system to win .  Top pick QBs are like the lottery . You never know if you will get lucky .

Howell is trubisky no thanks trunzoooo

That's extremely lazy. You'd never come up with that comp if they didn't go to the same school. They're very different prospects.

Meanwhile, the decision to bench Trubisky looks really dumb in hindsight. The Bears have been a much better team with him at QB than with Foles.

The problem is that right now the '22 QB class looks like Sam Howell and... and... crickets. You probably need to be #1 overall to get Howell.

Trust me, I'd love it. You won't find a bigger Howell fan here than me, but the odds are slim to none. This is almost certainly the FAR better overall QB class.

I would have said Michael Penix was a name to watch for next year but he tore his ACL for the 2nd time this year. We'll have to see how he recovers but has NFL talent and will be a redshirt Junior next year.

Its funny that everyone keeps using this one example. Please give me more. Using the Browns organization for any example does not a point make. Meanwhile we can look at many examples of great QBs who absolutely got murdered and careers ruined because they simply didn't have an offensive line. Look no further than Cam Newton and Andrew Luck. QBs especially young ones have to be protected. Especially their back sides. We haven't seriously addressed our offensive line in over a decade.

LOL. They've tried to address it and failed miserably. Do you know remember Kugzilla? How about Greg Little? Moton has worked out. What about Amini? They'ved drafted lineman and it hasn't worked out in the past. Same with the WR group. They tried to get Cam some help in Funchess, and KB. Those Mfers didn't work out. They've addressed it, it just hasn't worked out. Pretty simple. And yes, you can blame Hurney and Gettletits for that one.

The don’t draft a qb crowd fails in many ways, but this is probably the most funny. Basically you want to go bpa and then just magically get a great qb with a shitty pick. Tom Brady was a 6th!

Where was Bree’s drafted? Wilson? Mahomes? Watson? When was Big Ben taken? Lamar Jackson? What about Josh Allen? Where was Herbert taken? Aaron Rodgers?

wait a minute... you mean you don’t actually need a top 3 pick to get a franchise QB?!

Yeah. I think that’s the point people are making. Considering the majority of elite QBs in the league right now went pick 10 or later.

How about the Dolphins taking Jake Long when they needed a QB and passed on Matt Ryan?

We will not be in position to draft Sam Howell next year.  We won't even be close.  Our staff "should" have an actual offseason with the team this year.  We "should" have actual OTA's.  All of the things that this brand new staff didn't get.  We'll have CMC back next year.  We've lost SOOOOO many games by one score.  Even if we only flip a couple of those around, we could easily be 8-8 next year.

2 things...

When did we have the #3 pick? Y'all time machine people need to pay attention.

Why do the UNC slurpers always get their little peepees hard when they get a half decent QB? How many UNC QBs have started NFL games this year? This decade? (Hint- Duke had as many as UNC did). How many State QBs started this year?

I think the idea is get talented rookies this year and let Teddy sink the ship one more season.

What scares the piss out of me is we're actually good enough to get a wildcard next year despite Teddy and then they offer him up an extension.

Why doesn’t everyone just draft hof qbs in the 6th round then? Again, delusional. You have no understanding of probability. Please put on your thinking cap and think real hard about why outliers don’t prove your point
