I'd give Haskins a look this offseason.

23 year old kid that was the 15th pick in the draft at a position the Panthers desperately need and y'all are like nah, don't sign him we good with Will Grier.

Lol

Would you have the same energy if we brought in Trubisky? We’re not good with Will Grier . I would’ve liked to see what we had in Walker but that’s seemingly done. Haskins just simply isn’t an nfl qb or the answer.

It makes perfect sense. We sign Haskins. We start him next year. Guaranteed 1st overall pick. Draft Sam Howell. Mission accomplished.

You kinda added a few assumptions there, didn't you? :) Nobody said start him.  We still draft a QB this season. I would love Howell, however, but this is the draft you get the QB.  There are six I would like here, and 2-3 more I would like to see as developmental (Newman, Purdy, that Cincy Qb)

WHY NOT TAKE A CHANCE

Not even a real chance---you are going to sign him for nothing and give him an opportunity to get it together.  Let him spend some time with Rhule and under Robby Anderson's wing.  Anderson knows what Rhule can do.

Sure. He would come with more expectations though I think.

With all due respect, the statement that he is a good player is an assumption.  The list of football (and other sports) players who were good in college and not able to be even mediocre players in the pros is fairly long.  I would suspect a lot longer than the list that were good at both levels.

My question is this: given his body of work in the NFL, again, what do we have that says he is worth the effort and attention he is going to require.  And Igo, I don't care if he was the #1 pick overall, that is completely irrelevant to where he is in the NFL.  There will be options at the position, even down the depth chart, that will need some work, but much less than Haskins.  It is not like he is going to be the only depth-chart QB available.

A mentor can instill professionallism. Can't instill physical gifts. Swap him with Grier, give him a chance. If he doesn't change, cut him. Worst case scenario is you lose a guy that was inactive all year long

Here is my issue though

He isnt a good football player either

Seriously, he was in a weak QB class and quite a few people had low grades on him.  But Dan Snyder had a thing for him (believe he went to the HS Snyder went to)

Had the Redskins taken Burns and Hurney took Little at that pick.   Then Little combined Haskins off the field issues with his play.  Would teams be excited "Little has tools, he was a top __ pick!"

He11 no.

In addition, for a HC to preach "Culture, Culture, Culture"  then go sign a guy that Rivera tossed.

Think this is more to do with just Rhule's frustration with the QBs, makes me think more and more that we're going to be hella aggressive trying to trade up for a QB in this draft

Hi Schultz- I never said he is a good player--I said he has a tremendous skill set.  The whole focus of Rhule's scouting is on skill sets--do they match the system.  So are you suggesting that we do not look at 23-year old kids with incredible skill sets because there is a long list of players who were good in college and not in the pros?  And you are right about that, but we are not dealing in volume here--we are looking to salvage a diamond out of the coal bins.

And his body of work in the NFL is concerning, but many QBs are thrown into the fire too soon and not properly supported.  Haskins demonstrated childishness all season long, but I have no faith in Rivera's ability to develop young talent.  That is why he preferred veterans. Again, we do not give up anything to take a look.  I do not get the reluctance--and I hope our scouting department operates under a different set of criteria.

    • Rich people who collect Health are indeed a surprising type of leaders. It's so exciting to see it but I have no doubt that this is clear enough. Where can rookies scare up striking Health recipes? I'm working on it at this time. This would be friggin' stupid if it freaked out others. Take this information very seriously. I still hadn't found anyone to tell me with respect to this sticky situation.   https://groups.google.com/g/actiflow-prostate-health/c/3csTfO4T70g https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/5837affc-861d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/6f1364f6-861d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/k6H8LBL14zY https://groups.google.com/g/synogut-price/c/gk7Vuy_kDR0 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/590538e2-881d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/387bb1e3-881d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/lnNwUSvAjwk https://groups.google.com/g/kerassentials-cost/c/5SLLeAVxU74 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e1d45d45-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/a1266d43-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/gVH8Ltoz_4Q  https://groups.google.com/g/pineal-guardian-brain-support/c/DRkldCEbe3w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e24acabb-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/cecad6bd-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/dnrUDyelUG8 https://groups.google.com/g/gutoptim-review/c/NYvnYEUQV4w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/09b1fdad-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/9381c5ae-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/_LRPsonxaPk
    • Bryce Young shows significant improvement. (Mimics Stroud's rookie season numbers).
    • I want the conversations at season's end to be more about what else we need to build onto the foundation to be playoff contenders and less about the fultility of drafting yet another QB and hiring yet another coach because as long as Tepper is the owner, it doesn't matter what this team does.
