Matt Rhule “We have to move to get younger offensively in the draft” AKA O line will be a focus

OL at 8, dont see it happening, would be one heckuva reach unless its Sewell which wont happen.

OL looks to be a Prime spot in rd 2.  Its not a top heavy OL class like last year with 4 or so elite level OTs but more like 2019 with 1 top guy and a bunch of solid products that will filter to rd 2.

OT will be a hot want.  But my eye and guy I want is Josh Myers, the Ohio State Center.  #2  Center, who should be around our pick.

Dude is a Tough Mauler in the Middle.  Paradis is a the Only starting OL signed for next year.  But he is a Hurney contract who may be cut this offseason to open up cap in order to help keep Moton.

Your not replacing the entire OL in 1 offseason, especially with the other holes.  But if we can get that guy in the Center of the OL solidified and able to resign a consistent+elite level RT, thats a start.

From what I have read CMC wanted to play but wasn't allowed to. Anyone who plays every snap is playing dinged up at points during the season. By week 15, healthy is a relative term.  I can't see Rhule talking about him negatively at all. Now Okung might be totally different.

Honestly, that's what I think too. But I'll be honest reading those comments, the first name that came to mind about the toughness,  not lasting down the stretch, etc. was CMC. It very well may not have been intended, but damn if it didn't fit like a glove.

Maybe this year it might apply somewhat but given that CMC played more offensive snaps than just about anyone else last year he has a track record of being tough, dependable and durable.

I am sure it is coincidence but this year he falls in love and spent much of the off-season having fun and relaxing. And suddenly he stays injured almost all year after not having an injury history in the past. I just wonder if his head was all about football like in years past. Like I said it is likely just coincidental.

Yeah, time will tell. He's still saying all the right things.

Over the next few months, I will be saying different things because I try to argue every possible perspective to keep from becoming closed minded or failing to consider all options.  I will be berated and called a hypocrite.  However, I warn everyone from falling in love with any player or position.  And there are times I am presenting what I think THEY are going to do, based on clues and hints.

So based on what I am hearing, I am pretty certain that we will take a QB in this draft in the first round.   Having said that, I think they will be testing the waters to see what the other teams before them are going to do-putting together trade packages to use if necessary. This draft might be all offense.  Not kidding, especially if we have to trade up.

who is #71 the center from OSU...he was flattening Clemson DL all game long

Josh Meyers

Meyers, Creed Humphrey, and Landon Dickerson are all 3 really good centers in this draft. All have played some at guard and have that nastiness you look for.

daley was pretty good when he was on the field...wonder if he is a keeper?

I hope Daley works out. I feel like he could be a very good G for us but his track record staying healthy worries me. The fact that they put him on IR after he had a concussion is scary also.

He has much more promise than Little does even as a late round pick, and it would really help us out if he can have a great offseason and take one of the starting G spots by the horn. Fingers crossed we sign a Moton, have Daley at G, and with Paradis coming back that would leave 2 spots to fill. We could then draft a C in round 2/3 and play them at G for one year then take over for Paradis the following season which would leave one spot LT to fill.

Creed had a mediocre year in most phases. OU's line wasn't nearly as dominate as they usually are the past two years.

Humphrey is a solid prospect but we're gonna see him mocked to us bc of name recognition a ton on this forum in the coming weeks, just watch

    • Wanting that type of play and being okay with paying $55 million a season for it are two entirely different things. If Bryce were to become the same player Purdy has been, then he would surpass my expectations of him and I'd be okay with him as our QB of the future (and again, I've long been one of the bigger anti Bryce people here who doesn't think he is capable of being our long term solution). But in no world would I be okay with paying him THAT kind of money, paying an average starter elite money is just a terrible decision.
    • I don't think they can overcome that mistake. Hell Lance was a hiccup compared to this. He isn't going to be able to carry that price tag and now he is going to have to do just that. Lol. The NFL is so dumb sometimes.
    • So, one could say that T-Mac is quicker than someone of his size should be and while he might not be quite as fast as Evans in the 40, he's more athletic than Evans. If only someone, anyone, could have seen that in his tape and mentioned that on here, hmmmmmmm In all seriousness, hearing he tested in the 89th percentile in that drill at his size is crazy impressive.  Just tried to look up the times of the top WRs in the league right now, most don't show at time for that, but I did see Chase ran his in 7 seconds flat. I honestly don't know how true this is, but I do remember seeing one breakdown of his tape and the person said he has quiet and efficient feet.  That he's really good at using the minimal steps possible to make his cuts and because of that, it actually makes him look slower to the human eye because you don't see all the quick chop steps that the guys like Tyreek would use in their running. I'm still in a state of disbelief that he's a Panther and it might not fully hit me until week 1 and I see him out there making plays for us, still feels like Goodell is going to just be like, "YOU GOT PUNKED!!!  hahaha, he's a Cowboy now, suck it"
