let curtis samuel walk

samuel had a good season in this offense but for the amount of money he will be requesting is not worth the investment . samuel is a # 3 receiver and its not worth to pay him and lose dj moore the next season . The wr position is one of the easiest positions to find a solid play maker , just take a look at the steelers if you notice a trend they draft a receiver almost every year in rounds 3 to 6 and one always ends up being solid .

let samuel walk , draft a receiver in the 3-6 round well be fine letting another team over spend on him , its just not worth spending the capital when we can focus that money on the defense or offensive line .

Have you followed the panthers before DJ Moore and Samuel?  We had nobodies filling WR rolls basically since 03.  Steve Smith was the anchor until 2013, after that its been years and years of JAGS

And yet we went to the Super Bowl with these nobodies.

Samuel gets the cheers and creates highlights we clearly see on TV,  but Moton is rock solid--we just do not see it.  Having said that, we are going to have to cut some players to keep both. However, with the reduced cap, there will be less money to spend in free agency and more players released to get below the new cap figure--I assume that is still the case.  So I am not sure the market will permit Samuel, a #3 WR to make too many demands as he may have been able to make last year.

Let's see how this plays out.

Exactly...I like Curtis but Moton has to be the priority. I also think that folks are discounting the fact a lot of those passes/touches that went to Curtis normally go to McCaffery. If we can keep him great but not scared to let him walk and take the comp pick

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
