Watson to Fins/Phins trade speculation.

our chances of trading for Watson are next to none without giving up the farm....and I am sure Rhule and Tepper aren't keen on that.  Throw in the fact we haven't even hired a GM I put the odds at 0%.

I wouldn't want to trade Watson for Tua either, I'd ask Miami for all their first rounders in the upcoming draft, and then at least their 1st and 2nd in 2022....maybe more.

Interesting the Texans put themselves in this position by promising to keep Watson informed of the process and saying they wanted his input and then completely doing the opposite.  Maybe the Texans are the WTFs?

I'm not even sure our "farm" would be enough.

If I'm the Texans the only way I even consider the trade is if one of the picks I receive gives me the chance to get one of the top 2-3 QBs this year.

Trevor plus two future 1st sounds better to me than even 4-5 1st.

Still don't think he gets traded, but if it were going to happen you'd need something that the Texans were willing to accept.

This might be a step in that direction.

Dolphins trade scenarios:

1. Tua + three 1st - That’s a lot to give up when Tua could be just fine.

- This would be appropriate speculation from the Texans tho if they want three 1s. I would not let the Dolphins count Tua as a known commodity. Therefore you have to have multiple 1s in addition to Tua.

2. Tua + #3 overall and 2022 1st. This is definitely what the Dolphins would prefer. But if the Texans accept this then they’re saying Tua is a known commodity. Which is stupid.

When I said the "farm" I pretty much meant everything we could give of value, I don't think we have the ammo to trade for him either without dismantling the team.

Miami does have the #3 pick which could give them one of the "top 4" QBs in the draft.

I don't think Jacksonville is even thinking about trading the #1 pick so Trevor isn't an option.

Best movie of all time.  Gives a realistic view into a teams war room on draft day.

Yeah, Draft Day staring Kevin Costner is a very realistic and accurate depiction of the NFL.

Signed,

That one dude in the locker room of Any Given Sunday. You know which dude I’m talking about.

Tua has to be treated as an unknown.  He played OK at times, but didn't show anything that made you think he's a franchise QB.  All this during the "pandemic" season.

I think Tua's ceiling is a competent NFL starting QB.....

I never said Jacksonville would, only that it would take something like that for me to consider it if i was the Texans.

What about the Jets?

If they trade with the Jets they are guaranteed of getting QB2.  What is the chance they are really high on 3 QBs?

Darnold + 2nd pick this year + 2021 1st

or

Tua + 3rd pick this year + 2021 1st

Didn't show "anything"? That's a little cold! He hasn't lit the world on fire, but he was an inexperienced rookie with arguably a dearth of talent.
