Reports: Joe Brady, Terry Fontenot pairing very possible for Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are continuing their thorough search for their next head coach and general manager, but two names emerged Monday in multiple reports as possible favorites.

According to multiple reports, the Falcons could be eyeing Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady as head coach and New Orleans Saints executive Terry Fontenot as general manager. Atlanta has already interviewed both candidates.

CBS Sports senior NFL reporter Jonathan Jones tweeted on Monday morning that a union between Brady and Fontenot "is very possible" in Atlanta, a report local reporters who cover the Falcons then echoed.

Maybe. Our guys spent a whole year learning the offense. Would we change it? I guess it depends on who we hire as an OC.

It's so weird they would hire both positions in division. Way too chummy for me. Hell I was a bit put off by Brady being a Payton guy, at least he had 1 year elsewhere in-between.

I personally want Brady to stay on as continuity is important. With that said, Brady could be a terrific head coach or a disaster. He’s just so green that you have no clue.

I’d say ‘go’ and get an experienced coordinator in here.  I suspect Brady is the one who saddled Carolina with Bridgewater.  Just go

Brady getting hired on total hype and bluster. Panthers offense got worse as the season went along. Maybe we will regret this down the road if he grows into a great head coach. And it’s possible. But he’s way too young. He can go if he wants to bolt.

He wasn't much of a mid game adjustor.   I'd like to see a similar offense with a coordinator that can make halftime adjustments.

As a guy who has been 100% about Brady since last year, tbh, I saw a lot of issues with his first year as an OC.  That doesn't mean he isn't a bright up-and-comer still, but there were a lot of holes in his game.  Although I don't want to lose him, I also wouldn't be worried about playing his team twice a year.
