The Chargers are a terribly ran franchise and would have been the Browns west of it wasn’t for Rivers all those years

I always said he would have those SB’s if he would have not been traded from giants. Eli should be thanking Rivers.

QB driven league, remember. Rivers was the only top QB they have had since the remnants of what used to be Andrew Luck left. That's actually the saddest part about the Indy situation, they built a great team around him but he couldn't hold up to take advantage of it. I would be really upset as a Colts fan.

Okay but that's not "carrying" though.

He was good enough and better than Brissett. That's all they needed.

I mean....fair point but there really aren't a lot of great cases of a QB "carrying" a team to the Super Bowl. The one that definitely sticks out would be 2015 Cam, right? That was largely the greatness of him that season that propelled us to those heights. It isn't like his supporting offensive cast was much.

When Rivers was at State, TA McLendon told me that he had to tell him where to line up and what hole to run through after calling the play. 

TA did not realize that he was confessing to being stupid--he was telling me how smart Rivers was.  Said, "He knew where everyone on the field was supposed to be and what everyone on D was going to do."100 in 100: Stanly County's T.A. I think Rivers and Big Ben are close, each with some positives and negatives to support their cases for being better. 

Who was Rivers best WR? Vincent Jackson? He would be Ben’s 4th best WR

The pass blocking wise Ben had the edge.

RB I guess you can give it to Rivers he had LT for 3 seasons.

And coaching is not even close.

He did have Antonio Gates and Keenan Allen. Certainly not the WR corps that Big Ben had but he has definitely had some talent around him. That is what always made San Diego such an interesting case, it wasn't for lack of talent the franchise consistently fails. It's because it's a poorly run organization.

      Just worry about it next year.  Its that simple honestly.  its way to early to do what ifs.  I could see us trade/cut chuba and retain dowdle, I could see them let dowdle walk and go with Chuba/Etienne and Brooks, and I could see Dowdle and Chuba both stay and see what happens.  Hell, we still have 6 games left THIS season plus possible post-season...what if Rico or Chuba have an ACL tear or severe injury.  I DO NOT want that to happen, but stuff like that does happen.  Remember RB is the most injury prone position in the NFL due to the beating their bodies take so having some extra guys is never bad, just wish it hadn't come at the cost we paid to get him.

      I think it’s cool that no one can be really certain what the outcome will be.  That’s a lot of progress! This is a real opportunity for us, I’d be happy with a competitive game and thrilled if we sack up for a W.

      I could never found out who did the first surgery. That failed.      Nor who did the recent one.    Yiu can’t count on anything involving him. If it happens it’s a windfall at this point.
