Joe Person: Panthers would love to try and pry away Matthew Stafford

This would be a Richardson-esk move if it's for Stafford. Move all in on a guy at or after his peak and hope it works out and you get a ring. We know how that worked out year after year........

Stafford is boarder line top 10 atm and a crowded list ready to bump him down the list. The jump from 10 to 5 is huge.

Now if Rodgers becomes available for a future 1st and a second, that is a completely different take.... He is a clear top 5 guy for atleast a few more years. Same window but a lot better player. With Brees gone and who knows on Brady, there would be a chance to get to a SB where you get the Patrick Mahomes show.

Whatever dude. You didn't think they had interest, they did. Patriots wanted Teddy last year, Bill was upset he couldn't make it happen. I remember seeing tge interview when he was asked who their next target would be. Their fall back option ended up being Cam. Like I said, the $20 million price tag could very well change their interest. We probably gave that stupid contract to convince him to choose here over them.

Idc if they are still interested or not, find the best trade possible. Giving a first and second for Stafford, maybe the Lions take Teddy as a one year mentor to their new guy. That is for the front office to figure out.

So y’all wanna trade a first and a second for a guy older than cam been in the league longer , been banged up just as much as cam . While never leading his team to a single playoff victory ? Make it make sense please someone . I’m not even gone mention we held him to zero points lol oops i just did smh .

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
