Still rebuilding?

He saw something this year like we all did. We are a QB away from being a playoff caliber teams and a defensive player or 2 away from being a threat to shake things up in the playoffs. Why would you not want to adjust to the scenario instead of being complacent. This tells me he had faith in Rhule but thought it would take longer and didn’t expect him to translate to the NFL as well as he did in year 1. He is not perfect but he is in the top 20 of production in comparison to his peers last year. How we handle the personnel this year will tell us if he’s capable of sustaining the foundation to build from.

With Marty Hurney...

"This is gonna take a while, maybe up to five years. I ask you to trust the process."

Scott Fitterer takes over...

"We'll offer you the number eight overall pick, our fifth rounder and Teddy Bridgewater in exchange for Matt Stafford. What do you think?"

I mean everyone thinks we're so far off from competing when we're really not. Our offense is good, just need a QB and a couple linemen. Our line wasn't as bad last year as others think it was. The line gave Teddy many opportunities every game to do something and he just didn't. On defense, we're only going to get better with the young guys, just need a couple DBs and a LB or 2. We're closer than people think. Fitterer may see it the same way also.

I mean how can’t anyone else see it was all qb we lost all 8 games within 7 points. I mean u win half of those we would have been close to playoffs with a first year coach during what u thought was a rebuild during a pandemic. You only imagine how this team does with a good qb that can win more one score games. Tepper sees this team is a whole lot better than he thought.

Kinda odd to hold him to that considering he was still operating with Richardson regimen up until the beginning of last year.

To be fair though, that was by his own choice.

He could have ripped the Band-Aid off immediately. It's been done before.

Tb wasn’t horrible by any means. Like Dennis Green said (TB) was he who thought he was. Sad thing is we overcompensated in comparison to the Saints. They have a playoff team that even a mediocre to bad QB could go in and look decent. It happens, you learn form it. Sad thing is Tepper is going to lose 20 million in the process of learning to equate to next to nothing, but that should motivate him to be more stringent evaluating significant decisions like that again and leave it up to some one with a track record that is favorable.

In short, yes, we are still rebuilding.  It is year two.  While I don't expect playoffs, I expect no less than .500.  I mean we were a handful of choked FGs and bad decisions by Bridgewater from that this year.  This with rookies and scrub FAs scattered throughout our defense.

Would you drop the ax on Rhule if we are sub .500 this year again?

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
