Saying the Texans are behind this is insanity. They had a highly valuable asset that they would have gotten a franchise changing return for and now have somebody who no team will touch (at least for the time being).

There's no way a team will trade for him until and unless this situation works itself out in a positive way for Watson. If he is found to have done all or some of these things that are being alleged, his NFL future is definitely going to be questionable.

Everything the Texans have been doing over the past year or two has been insanity. This would be par for the course.

Let’s see what the Texans do. If this is true then they should cut him. If they just sit back quietly and do nothing then I’d expect to see this disappear. If I were the Panthers I’d be doing my own investigation while we wait to see what happens. I also think you can’t underestimate what a guy like McNair values. I’d bet he values his absolute power over draft picks or a player- even a star like Deshaun. He could easily have chosen the nuclear option here. However, if it turns out to be true then Deshaun will rightly deserve his punishment and likely be out of the league (for now knowing the NFL)

This is not as cut and dry as it seems. Escorts often advertise themselves as massage therapists and stuff to avoid legal troubles. I am assuming that by the time they got to him that would all be cleared up though.

That's the old school Robert Kraft stuff. The sex work industry lives openly on Instagram and OnlyFans now and that's just what's above ground. High class escorts aren't covering as massage therapist much anymore because they don't have to.

People should let this play out and stop jumping to any conclusions. With the issue existing all yo often in this country, we should take any accusation seriously. We should also realize that Deshaun is innocent until proven guilty. It is very odd when one woman comes out, then next thing you know you have multiple women following suite against an athlete that obviously has money to be made. I always take the allegations seriously, but also am like where were these other women on the past?

It’s better for Houston to sit back and let the NFL exempt him and the then cut him. That way they are off the hook for the cap and dead money. So that’s the first thing that’s going to happen.

The thing about all of this is is that there's no evidence, just he said, she said stuff, that's why it's civil and not criminal.  No one will really ever know what happened except those involved and that's enough to damage anyone's career, especially someone in the public eye......

The timing is crazy as all hell.  The fact it went from refusing to pay a settlement for harassment to rape allegations and who knows what else is concerning on so many levels.

I'm withholding judgment on the situation because the timing and connections are unreal, but this isn't looking good for Watson.

Why would they ever cut him?

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
