I think someone on here brought it up, what if this is why he wanted traded, Trying to leave Houston before this blew up?

The world is too small now for an elite pro athlete to just 'leave town' in order to avoid a massive civil suit for sexual assault. I don't think he or his team are that naïve. I think this is a friend of McNair's going attack dog on a player he thinks is giving his friend a raw deal. Either that, or Watson really is a creep and if that's the case, I wouldn't want him for free.

Said previously more women coming forward would be bad.

It's bad.

well, the facts actually matter.   The actual allegations matter and their credibility matter.

saying it’s bad implies we know things. We don’t know anything at this point.

we have seen lot of high profile people credibly accused of things...and we have seen a lot of high profile people bogusly accused of things.

I’d say at this point both sides seem a little murky and suspect.

Some weird things about this. 1st the lawyer posting this on IG and his erratic behavior. 2nd after deshaun’s response about money grabs now the lawyer is saying they’re only seeking 500 dollars for each plaintiff because this is not about money but the truth, this after the first six figure suit.

ive read some rumors, just rumors not facts. That Easterby was behind trading deandre because he was a bad influence on deshaun with women. That deshaun’s mom went to him with complaints.

this is a mess and I don’t think it’s gonna clear up anytime before the draft which means we should move forward with trying to secure a franchise qb in the draft. Cant try trading for him unless we are 100% sure he is innocent. Too much at stake.

It’s a civil suit...  the second Watson write the check the whole thing goes away.  It’s a money grab.  People acting like he’s Epstein or something.

It’s not that. The nfl will do an investigation and who knows what they would find or do. Just more risk on top of giving up all the draft capital.

Probably nothing.  NFL is more concerned with revenue and image.  The faster Watson gets traded and settles, the faster this goes away.

I tend to lump Favre and Manning in different clubs.  Think Favre gets suspended today.   Peyton's was he said, she said.  Either side could of been true.   Both could of perceived their side as the truth as well.

And now, there's another story out there. Like I said, wait for the follow-ons. Second one seems like there's going to be a paper, or text, trail.

Sure hoping we take a hard pass on Watson anyway, but if not, we could give up everything, be on the hook for him and see him have to sit out part of a season on a commissioner's exempt list status a la Greg Hardy.

Let's just draft someone instead.

Maybe things become more clear before the draft but that just doesn’t seem likely.

Actually, if I’m Tepper, I trade for him right now. His value just dropped and its civil suit.  It’s like stock... buy low.

Sorry man, this franchise’s recent history (see Richardson) makes this an impossible trade.

Unless these 6 women are proven to be lying, there is no way Tepper can bring him in as the face of the franchise.

    • I don't know; I think it's close for the first half and if it gets ugly it'll be in the second half.
    • The thing is, I feel like last Sunday validated what I have been saying about Bryce.  And this is why I'm somewhat optimistic. He isn't a good QB, let me make that clear before the brigade storms into this thread, but the biggest difference between Bryce before last week and Bryce in the second half of last season was his lack of confidence and willingness to make plays downfield.  Last week was the first time this season he's had that "F It" mentality, the same he had when he came back last year when he just looked and played care-free (in a good way; he had a positive energy).  We need him to keep that energy the rest of the season because if he does, we can win games. It ain't always about being good.  Hell Jameis Winston isn't good (better than Bryce, but still), but he plays with such a confidence that his teams always have a chance.   If Bryce is down to be as aggressive as he was last week, I think the opportunities will be there against a weak and injured 49ers defense.
    • I don't have a great feeling about this game, but after last night I have a real good feeling about our chances to win the division. I think we might actually have a fair amount of wiggle room if Baker is out for an extended period of time, especially if he misses one or both of the games against us. 9-8 could very well win the NFC South this year. Hell, depending on how long Mayfield is out I wouldn't be shocked to see 8-9 win it.
