I think NC is overdue for a MLB team considering the history here...  I think I read some years back though that the studies showed Charlotte wouldn't be a great candidate because of various factors relating to already having an NBA, NFL, minor league baseball team (and now a pro soccer team).  There has been a huge push to get a team in Raleigh.  I think the viability studies showed Raleigh is one of the top potential markets, so that would be dope.  I dont care which city would get it, but it would be awesome to finally have one...  I feel bad for Oakland fans, but it's Cali...  they have plenty other teams to pull for that no one cares about.

The Charlotte metro area still has nearly 500,000 more people in it than the Raleigh metro. Raleigh area is growing faster though and will likely catch up in another decade or so.

For first time, Wake County tops Mecklenburg County in estimated NC population

North Carolina has a new population leader.

Mecklenburg County is no longer the state’s most populous county, new U.S. Census Bureau estimates show.

After years of creeping up on Mecklenburg, Wake County, which includes Raleigh, finally overtook it — 1.13 million to 1.12 million.

The change came after Wake grew by 1.75% from 2019-20 and Mecklenburg grew by 1.41%, according to annual population estimates released Tuesday. The census bureau has yet to release an official population count, which will be detailed in the 2020 Census.

Not the full picture though. Wake county is 800 sq miles in size. Meck is 500.

      Icky was always a weak pass blocker come out of college. Cross was the premier pass blocker in that class. Much easier to learn run blocking than pass blocking. I never expected Icky to ever become an elite pass blocker. If he was average, that's all I really expected. I did expect him to be an absolute mailer in the run game.

      We aren’t in danger of being in the basement anymore and if we keep drafting well we could get to the playoffs after a while. I don’t mind if we get a new QB and coach eventually but we are “stable” and I’m grateful for it.

      I prefer 9-8. Reason being, winning season shows overall improvement and is the 1st step to establishing a winning culture. Backing into the playoffs with a losing record doesn't show you earned anything. It's the product of a weak division. If playoffs were based off records, most likely you're not going because another team(s) have a better record.  Chances are too, the next season, you're going to have a tougher schedule and a couple of those bounces that went your way are going to go the other direction and it's another losing season and no playoffs.  There have been 5 teams to get into the playoffs with a losing record. The 2014 and 2025 Panthers are 2 of those teams. Losing record trip 3 isn't exactly something I would be proud of doing. We have 9 playoff appearances so far, 2 of them simply because we won a shitty division. Another one would mean 30% of our appearances are only because we were the least stinky turd. That's a stat I'd want to flush.
