Damn we still on that arm narrative, that’s crazy, stay married to your opinions I guess

Reality isn't an opinion. Any suggestion otherwise sounds like the ramblings of a certain someone who deals in alternative facts.

Sorry, Cam won't be starting QB by that time and there's a case to be made that he may not be the starter coming out of training camp. Not saying Mac is ready right now, but that bum shoulder Cam's been working with hasn't been getting any younger or better.

I hate it for him, he was one of the most spectacular players to hit the field back in his heyday. He did things no one else ever had or might not ever will. But he hasn't been the same guy since Denver knocked the stuffings out of him in the Super Bowl and then did it again on opening day the following season. They tore the cape off of Superman and blew their noses on it.

And it just started the long, slow slide from there. That's football, though. Few, if any, get to go out at their best and few get to hang on for very long at all.

I give Denver no credit for that. The NFL didn't protect Cam at all and let him get head hunted in both games. The Cotchery catch and Denver being offsides on both our missed field goals.  The league wanted Peyton Manning to get his retirement trophy, and if Graham Gano wasn't  a snake oil salesmen of a kicker then we would have beat Denver in the rematch.

I am still not convinced that Cam's arm can hold up.  It's evident that his arm gets worse as the year goes on

Last game of the season was one of his better passing games of the year so no there is no "evidence" his arm got weaker. His worst performances came on the back of him returning from Covid. Not because his shoulder lost strength.

I think it's because he only attempted 10 passes the previous game.  He can do it when his arm gets enough rest.  I just don't think he can attempt 30 passes a game every week.

If you look at the games where he threw the ball a lot, he consistently underperformed the following week.  I think Covid set him back, but its impact is overstated.

It was a hard pill to swallow, but cam is done. He could have been among the greatest ever and could have had at least one ring while he was here, but he was mismanaged and the refs didn't like him for whatever reason and let headhunters go after him without consequence. Worse, the FO didn't have his back and did a piss poor job of finding a way to protect him.

Carolina just didn't do enough. His talent was wasted...but the parties who did the damage here are gone.

It happened. It sucks. But it's time to move on.

The criticism of any athlete being on social media doesn't add up. Our own #22 has been all over it making the rounds with his significant other living it up and nobody is making snide remarks. One thing I will say for Newton is he is authentic in striving to spread a positive mentality in an online world that thrives on negativity.

Naw, you just missed the boat, been discussed multiple times on here and debunked multiple times on here.

good example is a poster brought up cams last game vs the jets and someone’s rebuttal was because it’s the jets, the jets as disfunctional and organization they are have zero to do with cams arm, he demonstrated numerous times throughout the season his arm was fine

That’s incorrect, the games where he had more passing attempts he yield a significantly better qbr than games where he attempted under 20 passes

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
