The ideal Offensive Line

Recommended Posts

LT Christensen - Erving may start game 1 here if Brady doesn't have a strong preseason

LG Elfein - In the Darnold highlights from last year, Elfein stood out to me, plus there's familiarity with Sam

C Paradis - played well last year and Elfein is his only real competition

RG Miller- player well last year and will keep the right side of the line gelled from last season

RT Moton - Duh

This is my best guess and my reasoning. Obviously both guard positions are completely up in the air with 2 rookies and 2 FA's brought in that play guard, plus several returning guys (Daley & Miller).  I think/hope the plan is to get Christensen to LT ASAP, but he's in the guard race as well if he can't beat out Erving and Scott.

If Brown and Moore ended up starting at guard and Christensen at LT would give us 3 rookies as our starters.   Sign Moton to a long term deal.  We have 4 of the 5 O-line positions address for the next 4 years.

Throw in Tremble blocking from the TE or FB position our running game would be amazing.

We aren’t keeping 11. Honestly, I’d be surprised if we keep more than 9 on the active roster considering how much flexibility we have. I think Little and Daley are on the chopping block. Scott showed his value at LT and he came due to the new coaches unlike the other two.

Daley had his moments last year and his ability to play multiple position makes me believe he'll make the team.

Little, IMO, is odd man out.

I also think that Tremble could fill 2 positions (TE and FB) giving us the opportunity to keep 10 O-line me.

My ideal OL definitely doesn't exist with our roster.

I think it will end up:

LT: Scott/Christensen/Erving

LG: Elflein/Erving/Moore

Center: Paradis

RG: Miller

RT: Moton

I think the left side will be rotating players most of the season in an attempt to find "the guy."

This is the correct answer, IMO. I do think at some point one of Daley, Brown or Moore takes over at guard later this season. I also hope the team takes a hard look at Moore as a backup C for Paradis. Not sure if he can be a true NFL center, but he did flex at the position at the Sr. Bowl in front of Rhule.

Eventually, I could see a Christensen-Daley-Moore-Brown-Moton future OL

Short term ideal:

LT-Christensen (Scott, Erving)

LG-Daley (riddens the injury bug) (Erving, Elflein, Brown)

C-Paradis (Moore, Elflein)

RG-Miller (Brown, Moore)

RT-Moton

--

Long term ideal:

LT-Brady Christensen

LG-Deonte Brown

C-David Moore

RG-2022 Draft Pick/FA

RT-Taylor Moton
