If we’re strictly talking entertainment value, Teddy is about as bad as it gets with his risk-averse conservative style of play. You’re not excited to see a strong-armed gunslinger like Darnold take a crack at this offense with these WRs, after a year of Dinky Dunky Teddy? A common sentiment towards the end of last year was putting in PJ Walker instead of Teddy, not necessarily because he gave us a better chance of winning, but because “at least he’s more exciting to watch”.

Whether that excitement translates to wins, remains to be seen. But I guess I’m one of the few people whose enjoyment of the Panthers isn’t entirely 100% dependent upon winning or losing. I have fun watching the Panthers no matter what, although that Teddy offense was cutting it a little too close last year.

Now that I can agree with. At least Darnold is going to try and sling his way out of problems and not dink and dunk his way out of them. The results might end up worse but when those gun slingers are on point, it's fun to watch.

I am not sure I would describe the anticipation of watching Sam Darnold play as "fun."

Watching Teddy play last year was frustrating enough. Sam Darnold has never been as good as Teddy was last year.

I can't wait to see the 2021 Panthers....but I am not at all looking forward to seeing Darnold play. More like an impending sense of doom.

I wonder how Teddy would have done if he was QB'ing the Jets last season?

I'm going to venture a guess that he wouldn't have fared much better.

Yeah, Sam has something to prove here to the Panther faithful but let's not put Teddy "I'm going to burn my bridges and talk sh-t about my former team" Bridgewater on a Pedestal when HE is the reason why Sam was brought here in the first place.

Putting us that low is clearly a vote of no confidence in Sam Darnold. SI must think Sam is a bag of poop to push us that low.

Pretty much this.

But who gives a rat's ass what SI or any of the media morons think?

I get a bit angry or annoyed when the media dumps on our team. Just as an example, if we do let's say 10-0 to start the season we're to hear "worst 10-0 team of all time" and crap like that.

Should be used to it.

to me, it was vastly more fun to watch PJ Walker than Teddy last year.  I think it will more fun to watch Darnold than Teddy.

has nothing really to do with how good a QB actually is.  We weren't winning with Teddy.  We weren't winning with PJ.  PJ was offered a higher entertainment value.  Doesn't mean he increases your odds of winning though.

Pedestal? We are discussing sinking and floating turds.

Yeah, I have heard plenty about how bad the Jets were. You gonna say that if he flames out with us next season? Is it because we are a dumpster fire franchise like the Jets?

If he flames out, then that's on him, not the Panthers.

But I have a feeling he won't.

If 25 pisses people off, go check out NFL.com power rankings. We are 28th, only ahead of the texans, lions, bengals, and Jags.

They have the same bullshit with the 49ers at 9, really wtf? This is a team that went 6-10 last year, does anyone here think the 49ers are the 9th best team in the league?

I think they took much stock in the 49ers drafting at #3.

Is simply drafting Trey Lance that much more impressive?   bah.

Obviously it takes them from the worst team in their division to the 9th best team in the league, though he may not even play this year.

49ers dealt with a ton of injuries last year and weird covid poo where they couldn’t even practice at their own facilities because of California covid rules. Talent wise they are a top 10 team. But this also shows why franchise qbs are so important. They have a Super Bowl level talent roster. But when injuries pop up you need a franchise qb who can overcome. They didn’t have that until they drafted Lance who they think can be that guy.
