Christensen’s grade per the Panthers

interesting to see a peek of their draft board 

 

 

but we had a Rd 3 grade at OT on Christensen 

BUT 

a rd 2 grade for him at OG

I get that.  Sounds right.  So he is our next travelle wharton.

Sounds like we have a versatile o-lineman that can move around if we have an influx of talent.

I said before it wouldn't surprise me if he plays left tackle this year but gets shifted to guard in favor of more highly drafted left tackle next season.

And I'm okay with that.

I am guessing that means they didn't like any of the OT options in the draft, outside maybe Sewell. 

I do wonder why we chose him as opposed to getting a much more highly regarded OG in the 2nd. Perhaps they didn't have high grades on many OG's either.

I actually think it's kind of interesting that they're grading players at more than one position.

I wonder if that's been done in Carolina before.

I get the feeling they would’ve taken Sam Cosmi if the WFT hadn’t snapped him up a few picks earlier. He score was pretty high on the athleticism chart from what I understand. But that’s JMO.

Of course it has, you know Marty loved his versatile guys. ( although they were only versatile in Marty's head)

I remember seeing a comment that they had Christensen, Cosmi and a couple of others all graded about the same but I don't remember where.

I’m sure I speak for Panthers’ fans everywhere when I say I’m so damn happy we finally have a legitimate front office. The draft and Panthers Confidential video just sealed it for me.

- We were scheduled to pick #52 in the 2nd round, Cosmi went #51 to Washington

- We were on the clock when we traded out with Cleveland and gave them #52

- In the Friday night post 2-3 round draft presser someone asked Fitterer if there was a player that we liked that was taken right before we were going to pick, Scott said NO

Well sure it has. 2010:

Every scout in the room: we have no grade on Armanti Edwards as a QB. 7th round grade as a developmental WR. 

Hurney: I'm moving up to get him in the 3rd. Checkmate suckers.
