According to Alaina Getzenberg, the Panthers can actually bring in up to five try out players this week same as during rookie minicamp.

She believes they'll bring in a full complement, so we'll likely be hearing other names as well.

Saftey Ha Ha Clinton - Dix has never been amongst the best at his position, outside of his 2016 season. He has, however, been a consistently good player, just not out of this world. That's why he has had at least 78 tackles in every season. That's also why he has at least one interception in every season he played.

Hopefully he has something left. We need a FS badly.

The team is moving Chinn to free safety this year.  Clinton-Dix could be competition for Burris, however.  It was either last year or the year before I wanted us to sign Ha-Ha to a (reasonable) FA contract.

I hope Malik Hooker is one of them.

Cowboys release safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix after adding him in free agency Sep 3, 2020

FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys released veteran safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix on Thursday.

In March, the Cowboys signed Clinton-Dix to a one-year, $3.75 million deal that included a $1.25 million signing bonus. The team also guaranteed $1 million of his $2.25 million base salary, but the move frees up $1.5 million in cap room.

Clinton-Dix opened training camp working with the first-team defense but was quickly supplanted by Darian Thompson. Clinton-Dix spent parts of five seasons playing for Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy with the Green Bay Packers before being traded to Washington in 2018. He played last season for the Chicago Bears.

Cowboys' Aldon Smith, who'll play in first NFL game since 2015, shows off

The Cowboys were interested in Clinton-Dix because of his ability to take the ball away (16 career interceptions), but he did not perform up to expectations in camp.

Putting a position on Chinn will end up making your head hurt. The Panthers are looking for linebackers/safeties who can play multiple spots so they can confuse tf out of the opposing offenses.

    • https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1975274357174784272?s=46   saw this this morning and came to post something similar. I didn’t just love the team or the wins, I loved those dudes man. They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.
    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
