Will see. His issue last year was turf toe so that's not related to size.

He gets banged up a lot and not just turf toe. I think his size is a legitimate concern. I like him as a player though.

He is probably our best playmaker we have had in the secondary in a while. If he was Troy Pride's size we probably don't draft Horn.

I’m always leery of guys who ‘all of a sudden get it!’ their contract year. They fooled Hurney like no ones business.

He has shown some flashes though but he’s also made some really dumb mistakes. He has been improving but I would never want him on a #1 alone.

Which matters because if he wants that kind of money even after a solid year (likely), not sure I’d want to resign him.

Donte Jackson and Jaycee Horn have the potential to completely shift how our defense operates. They are fast, athletic, and have no trouble taking the best opposing receiver and dealing with them accordingly.

Jackson looked a lot like a true No. 1 corner after the bye week once he finally rid himself of the toe problem that made things extremely difficult over the first half of the campaign.

This year is a big one for Jackson, who is heading into the final year of his deal. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, his coordinator is confident the former second-round pick can make the necessary strides and become one of the league’s best next time around.

{ “Donte knows that the more consistent he gets … his talent, his movement skills, I don’t know that there’s much better in all of football. So the more consistent he gets, the more big plays. He has exceptional ball skills and exceptional movement. So the more consistent he gets, I think it’s the limit.” }

Getting Jackson help was absolutely imperative this offseason.

I know one of the NO games (later one, I think), Drew brees AVOIDED jacksons side the entire game. I think he only threw 1 or 2 passes in jacksons direction. They attack weakness, make LB pass cover, etc.. But to me that at least showed me how the saints staff viewed Djack, I was pleasantly surprised.

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
