Any speculations about Fitterer and who might be cut that could upgrade the backup QB spot?  Hunches?  Curious, weird feelings?  Predictions?  (Get the idea?)

Or

Do you think we stay put and ride the wave on the hopes that our OL keeps Darnold upright?

I think we may be looking for someone during camp cuts. The loss of Walker and/or Grier won't be hard to recover from. There's going to be a smart young kid  that ends up on the wrong side of some team's math and hopefully we'll grab him.

Walker and Grier offer us nothing either as relief pitchers or for the future.

PJ Walker would be a fine QB backing up a stud QB, say if the team traded for Watson. He has legs to move the offense and enough of an arm to test teams deep. He's not a long term answer but he's a guy that can at least come in and make a few plays. Will Grier obviously is a bust and will probably transition to selling real estate or something. Panthers QB situation might be one of the worst in the NFL.

lol I'm not making this a Watson thread, just saying that's the kind of backup PJ Walker is. The kind that you probably never want seeing the field but if he had to come in for a few plays, he could move the offense for a few drives. If he's starting for you, your team is done.

IMO, it is going to take some kind of trade to get someone that can knock PJ out. Rhule loves him. He won't be replaced by some teams castoff. A QB good enough to overtake PJ is just not going to get cut.

 

In regards to PJ. We have what we have.

 

Now Grier?  He's just lucky to still be drawing a check.

I don't think anyone is going to cut a QB that's an acceptable backup.

We'd have to trade for someone.

      Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!

      Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.

      I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
