Hornets Interested in Lauri Markkanen

As someone mentioned above, this creates a huge logjam at the four spot.

I wonder if we circle back to Myles Turner and try to flip P.J. Washington, Mason Plumlee (needed for cap reasons), and the first round pick from the Graham trade for him.

PG: LaMelo Ball

SG: Terry Rozier

SF: Gordon Hayward

PF: Lauri Markkanen

C: Myles Turner

Ish Smith, James Bouknight, Jalen McDaniels, Miles Bridges, Kai Jones, JT Thor, Caleb Martin, Cody Martin, Vernon Carey, and Nick Richards making up the bench.

Arnoldas Kulboka, Scottie Lewis, and probably LiAngelo Ball in the G-League (or on the main roster, who knows).

If we can flip some assets to get Turner as well then I would be much more optimistic. My only worry was either PJ or LM would be playing at the 5 and would put us at a huge disadvantage defensively down low, but adding Turner would easily solve that problem and would make us a huge threat.

"Terms of the deal are not available yet. It's likely this will be a part of the sign-and-trades already happening with the Bulls and Pelicans. The Bulls will likely match-and-trade Markkanen, which will tie into the deals that have Devonte' Graham going to the Pelicans and Lonzo Ball going to the Bulls, among other pieces.

Markkanen can play both the 4 and the 5. He's a good rebounder and a good outside shooter, and last year he was greatly improved as a finisher inside the arc. He would add more depth, size, and shooting to the Hornets front court.

He's also 24 years old for those of you that care about timelines."

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
