Ron’s immune system is messed up so don’t think he wants any unvaccinated players.

I don't mean this negatively and definitely not to get off topic, but I keep seeing this in several threads... you all do realize that getting the vaccination doesn't keep you from spreading the virus? I think this would have more to do with not wanting to deal with the NFL rules about vaccination.

I think you missed Ron's quote. He wasn't just talking about NFL players. He went hard on everyone eligible to be vaccinated and choosing not to.

So if Cam Newton got the jab, he'd be starting QB??? That is fuging hilarious omega level cope, HAHAHHAAHHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAH

(takes a beath..))

AHAHHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHAAHAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAH

Mac " ___________ ____________ " Jones beat Cam Newton for the job, can not believe I called that before Mac jones was even drafted. I was once a Cam believer too......The market speaks again and this time its not only Herniay, RR, Gettlegut, now Goat Bill has passed on Newton.

I believe Hoyer is not vacced either, unreal at Cams recent timeline.

Patriots fans are saying that Mac Jones outplayed him in camp and they were only surprised because they figured Cam would start a few games before they eased Mac into being the starter.

We're talking PJ Walker as our back-up.  Cam in his sleep is better than PJ.  If Cam agreed to get vaccinated I would rather have him as a backup than PJ and it isn't close.

Cam has said he doesn't want to be a backup. And besides, if you brought him in, there's an immediate QB controversy and it puts both Rhule and Darnold in an undesirable situation. Ain't no way we bring him back.

I don't think there is a starting position available so he'll have to accept the backup if he wants a check.

I also agree that it might be more of a distraction than it would be worth.

All good points.

It isn't happening, so why even discuss it further.

Patriots fans hate cam worse than panthers fans did.

Thats the truth, jab has nearly nothing/tiny to do with this. Excuse for losing out to Mac Jones. Cams ego can not allow backup duties.....next time Cam is on a field it maybe to thank Tepper for putting him into the panthers ring of honor.

Watch the saints snag him and go the superb owl just to piss us off.

In all seriousness I doubt he makes a move until a big name QB goes down to injury this season.

the stans can’t possibly believe Mac has better potential as the future in NE than cam…it must be because he’s not vaccinated, except they resigned him and kept in on this long unvaccinated lol

and he wont’t be starting anywhere

as everyone other than stans have been saying he is done, not a MVP just sitting there and waiting

you don’t draft Mac and don’t play him

Use that logic, say Mac Jones didnt get the clot shot. So they would have either cut Mac or kept Cam cause reasons?!?!?!?! Or like I said before, Cam took jab, so that means he starting??? If my former/GMs coaches pick Daniel "fing" Jones, Mac "xxxxx" Jones, 78 years 14 teamed Fitzmagic, 2 yard Teddy over ME.......Id go off the grind and get rid of all my yes men, do some real soul searching, no SM either..... Id say look in the mirror but in Cams case thats a bad idea.

I would worry little about that, the Saints couldn't do it more then once with a HOF QB.

    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
