Well this is certainly a way to address the kick returning situation.  He's a rookie and I'm not going to lie ball security scares the crap out of me, both kick and punt returning.

Let's hope Chuba does well.  I don't recall him doing any kick returning during the preseason....did he?

Question remains who does the punt returning?

I have a strong sneaking suspicion that thorough review and analysis would reveal that in the current era, kicks should pretty much never be returned from the end zone. When I watch games, the number of times a returned kick comes up short of the 25 yard marker seems to significantly outweigh the number of times a returner gets beyond that line. Can we all just agree that being a kick returner is now more or less a formality and the only thing that really matters is holding onto the ball?

      Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.

      I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.

      I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
