To the folks who mentioned the idea of Rhule monkeying with the process...

Coach Rhule is lying through his teeth….why would grown a$$ football players  vote for a boring, bland, washed up Clausen as a team captain?  Message board members wouldn’t do it.

Clearly Darnold is so miserably inept and lacking confidence his teammates got together to try to build him up by naming him a captain!!!!  It's not like he's ever shown leadership ability before or something, and definitely not been selected by past teammates in a similar fashion!!

Why did he have to say anything about it at all... 🧐

I mean did Wilson or Lawrence need an explanation...

QBs most likely are captains, it says alot if you're not...

Or need to reaffirm it to the media...

Don't remember him saying anything about Teddy last year, so why this year... 🤔

He said it because the idiot media in Charlotte gets material off this forum.  Anyone that bothers to look into poo knows Darnold has a history of being considered a leader in the locker room...

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
