I’m trying to figure out how Charlton was not in walk of shame, I mean he was so terrible. I mean I know our line would be there every week but I think he should have been at the top. Shanked punts and just couldn’t pin them back. That’s why I was more upset we didn’t go for it on the 33, after his god awful punt. Also add Ian Thomas I mean every catch is a bobble or a drop, can’t believe we didn’t just cut and save 2 mil. Damn

Punters don't really get a lot of practice trying to pin an opponent back.....by punting from the opponents 33.    That's not what punters actually do in the NFL.

In all reality, it looked like a preseason game. The good is there were more positives in my eyes than negatives, we gotta W and didn't get a ton of injuries. No need to add on to the negatives. Excited to see what we do on D the rest of the way

The only thing I would say let me down yesterday was it seemed like we went into a prevent D way too early. We can't do that at all this year. The D is way too talented to let up, and will keep us close in games if we keep getting after it.

How was the fumble on Sam?  The FB ran directly into the ball...

When you're running out of the I formation with a FB lead blocker, the QB has to wait until the FB clears to extend the ball for the hand off. Sam stuck the ball into the FB's shoulder who isn't looking for the ball because it isn't supposed to be there.

This is how it's supposed to look.

Now that I have had time to digest yesterday's game some more I think the prevent D comming out so early was probably more to do with the temperature on the field.  It's a longer season and a few more games before the cooler weather arrives.  I saw where at one point the temperature on the field had gotten to over 120.

You are probably right there. I didnt take that into consideration at all, and if thats the reasoning I can live with it. I would rather have some closer scores than injuries any day. We could have a special D this year.

It a balancing act this time of the season.  If the score at the half was 28-0, which it should've been, they would had much more breathing room.  It was just a sloppy first game that should've been a blowout but came uncomfortably close to being a loss.

I haven't seen anyone say it yet, but I think the returners for both punting and kicking were just god awful. They went nowhere and got tackled quickly.

Not sure if its the returner, the entire squad, or both.

I seem to remember Tremble had a nice return?  I was watching on my phone, so I may be misremembering.

But yeah, our return game has been ignored and it shows.

And our offense couldn't stay on the field. So our D was getting gassed in the 3rd.  After that 12 play FG drive, and getting a breather, they looked better.

I agree the defer bar could've played a little tighter towards the end but unlike the previous regime, we held tight enough to win. I would've like to have seen us go man with a contain when Jets starting play action.

NOTE: I edited my post due to spell check.

I hope we experiment on the oline a little.  The guard play has to improve some.  Excited for next weeks game!  Shaq looked very comfortable in the defense, felt like he was everywhere.  Derrick Brown beating his man and laying a blow to the other blocker en route to killing Wilson, a thing of beauty!  Got to finish on a few of the pressures, but overall, have to be excited about the defense moving forward!
