It’s complete fuging speculation can we just wait until we get an actual diagnosis from somebody who has seen and put hands on it?

Yes its complete speculation and he could be wrong.  Dr. Chao has a "schtick" and its reporting snap judgements on injuries based on limited information.  His gimmick is filling in the gap of time between the injury and the actual reporting of the details of the injury.  The guys with their "hands on" Horn are not going to give us information for a while...even though they might already know.

Dr. Chao spent nearly 2 decades as and NFL team doctor and he's actually pretty accurate.  Being a doctor means understanding the body and injuries.  But he has spent alot of time reviewing how certain injuries happen and the players reaction to certain injuries.

I remember years ago a star player underwent surgery leading up to the season.  Dr. Chao was on NFL Radio throwing out his random input.  He said the type of surgery the guy had takes every bit of 10-12 weeks for the incisions and tissue to heal.  The problem is the guy is going to feel "normal" after only 6-7 weeks so his instinct is going to be to go back at it...and its going to be hard for the team doctors to convince him he needs to wait another 4+ weeks even though he feels fine.  So Dr. Chao predicted he'd go back at it early, and tear some stuff open and be out for the season.  That was exactly what happened.

Depending on the break, that’s not even season ending.

I think even the most severe break could have him back by playoffs. Need Bouye to step right in in the meantime. And I think he can. Thank God it’s not an Achilles not just for this season but for his career.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
