McCaffrey and Horn Injury Updates

We are a better team with CMC and Horn.

That said, we scored more points without CMC than with him.  We scored 17 without CMC.  We scored 7 with him.

They scored more points when we had Horn, 6, than when Horn was out 3.

Now situational football drove that, but the next guy up, stepped up.  Chubba, Royce and Sam stepped up.  Brady called better and the D held their ground.

True, but I'm just pointing out, everyone and every bone heals differently.  And with it being more than one bone broken, that makes the injury as a whole more complex.  Now you're not just checking for healing in one bone, you're treating and following up multiple.  I just think that's more concerning than if it was one bone.

Not only that but a Jones fracture ( 5th metatarsal fracture) takes longer to heal because it has a poorer blood supply than the rest of the foot.  of course I am certain Horn will be given every treatment option to speed the process and one thing that will speed the process is the insertion of a screw to stabilize the bone.  So I would guess he is going in for surgery if he has a Jones fracture.  And the soonest he would be available to play again would be 8 weeks.

Wow, you read my mind.  I dont know much about these injuries, but as I was typing that, I even thought in regards to my "bones heal differently," that blood flow/supply to certain bones may be different depending where they are...  but, I had no idea that was actually the case if thats what he is dealing with.  Wow.

Again, I just really hope what we've heard is the absolute worst case scenario and hasn't been confirmed.  Hopefully the news is better than we expect.

I broke that bone in my right foot once, even after I had the cast off I had discomfort for several more weeks and could not put full pressure on it

even if he's cleared to come back this season I wouldn't want him to since he's not going to be in playing shape after 6 to 8 weeks of hobbling around

I broke my 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th metatarsal a couple years back.  So I have my own experience with how different bones heal differently.  I also hope he doesnt have a lisfranc injury as well cause that could make it worse by requiring more extensive surgery.

    • We dont know how anyone feels about going forward with bryce, nobody has asked anyone the question.  We do know through actions that there is no fuging way Canales overly trusts him behind center.  I dont know after 30+ games how the hell you couldnt have a concrete opinion by now. Ellis was all over fnz and twitter today screaming about "letting it play out".  What the fug is 5 games going to show you after all we have seen?  Everyone but a few on here rightly, thought he had turned the proverbial corner last year.  It was clearly smoke and mirrors.   He could win out and they still have to bring in competition, you simply cannot risk it again him being dogshit to start the year and then when he levels out its the classic sub 200 games. I half assed looked for the quote from whatever writer (maybe it was on a podcast) about how after the atl game running it back was a real possibility with Dalton and bryce.  There is simply no way that could possibly happen.  No way.  Thats some playground poo.
