I know you’re pissed that it looks like Cam should’ve been kept over “the most pro ready qb prospect in the draft.” Mac Jones sucks as an nfl prospect. 3rd round and later type prospect. Bill deserves this tho

This. Brady is the massive outlier. He's just so damn good at reading defenses and putting the ball right where it needs to be. Nearly every other elite QB has some elite physical traits.

Watching these teams just makes me realize that we may be more legit than many think we are.

For sure. It's goddamn hard to win in this league no matter who you're playing. The Aints blew out the Packers (a top team) and are handling the Pats (a solid fringe-playoff team with the best coach ever) and we stomped them bad. The Texans made a game out of it with the Brown and destroyed the Jags. There's no doubt in my mind that our start through 3 games is very impressive and not fools gold.

Just lol. Dude is a street FA and the Texans won't even give him a sniff his career is over.

FYI I could care less about Mac Jones Fields or BB.

The QB class looks awful. Looks like we dodged a bullet plus Sam is playing pretty darn good.

I always felt the tank for Trevor comments were just silly, but I do think it is way to early to write the class off. It really does take a couple of years to see what most qb's have.

You usually can tell what you have season one with a first-round QB. Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be a generational prospect that potentially transcends the position. He isn’t that.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
