If he is an average corner, it's a good trade.

If he allows our defense to not fall apart because of losing Horn, it's a great trade.

If he lives up to his ability, it's a fantastic trade.

Horn allowed us to play differently...hope he can just come close to that.

I agree with all that tbh. I just think the likelihood of him being just average is very very small. I think he's either going to live up to the tools he has... Or fall flat.

Hopefully he also can find his footing here.

Someone referenced tweets re:suicide and a coaches visit to his home.

Hopefully just fan nonsense rumors.

But his lack of production stems from something.

I will empathize with the fact he was stuck on a team that was intentionally tanking last year, that sucks. However, I can't align with anything outside of that. Jacksonville is one of those franchises that just cant keep talent, and that bodes well for us.

In this thread there is someone stating that most were rumors on twitter, but the big thing about the kid is that he just gave up last year adn didnt look committed. That can be coached out of someone with the right supporters in their circles.

Love Arnold but get CJ and solidify the defense for years to come. He and Jaycee would be such a dynamic duo for years to come. We are an offensive line and running back away from being real contenders.

"CJ and Jaycee"  has a better ring to it than "Darnold to Arnold" anyway!

Remember we need a franchise LT AND CENTER, that's unless you think we should extend Paradis? 🥴

Trust me I havent forgotten about paradis.  Again I like this trade but we are really pigeon holing ourselves in regards to the 2022 draft.  We need line starters and depth and in a perfect world we would have spent our first 3 picks on that.  But I guess not now.

Damn man. Arnold made some nice catches. Really hope Tremble and Thomas are up to the task.

We are going to be overloaded at CB when Horn comes back. Not sure what the plan will be there.

I've been wanting to move Jackson to the slot for the longest time.

Looking over that thread it's clear a lot of fans still liked the guy.  Hopefully whatever is going on is something our org can/help him overcome so he can hit his sky high potential.

I found the source of the depression narrative. Could be true, but right now it's all speculation. Apparently its based off of twitter follows and likes.

I love this trade but I gotta admit this was my initial thought as well when I heard the terms of the trade.  Godalmighty its imperative that we get a franchise LT in the first this year and then pray some interior guys drop in this draft

We will be in good shape with cap money wise....may have to shake a few trees and make something happen.

And if you think about it Jackson hasn't been all that healthy in the past. We have great depth now at CB and we don't have to use Corn. This gives us the best CB duo since Gamble and Lucas once Horn returns. I'm thrilled. Although the naming duos of Corn and Horn, Arnold and Darnold, it was shaping up to be pretty funny.

The fans are saying he didn't want to be there from day 1 and has "mental issues".

How many people "want" to be in Jacksonville?

The only ones that do are clearly the ones with "mental issues".

Edit: other that players on the Jets.

    • You are right--it was DC.  I remember talking to him at Belk in Albemarle one day--the Panthers were on a bye and they were (at the time) a disapointing 4-4.  I mentioned that the record was disappointing and he seemed to get a bit annoyed.  He dId not say anything.  I trying to suggest that we will get better, but I think he was pretty upset about it.  No hard feelings, but the man was simply trying to shop with his wife and this annoying jerk starts making comments about his job---I get it.  I apologized, telling him that I was trying to be supportive and not critical--he did not think it was a big deal.  I'd see him at events from time to time-he'd wave or say hi, but it was awkward for me.  Figured I would say something stupid.  Jordan was pretty popular--nothing like she seems to be now--she is holding her own in a man's world...proud of her.
    • Like we have had the last 3 years.
    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
