No Respect for the Panthers - What Cowboys Fans are Saying

This is best oline Panthers have faced so far, we will see if our dline is really legit.

Their pressure % is low because they literally have the shortest pocket time in the league.    Dak has been sacked more than Sam.  They actually have fewer passing yards than we do, on more attempts.  They have the 7th lowest air yards/ per completion.  If their run game fails, they are looking at 3rd and long.  If we shut down the run game as we have done, it'll be a long day for dink and dunk Dak.

If you are right, and the boys are great, they should crush us without CMC, Horn and Buris, on the road.

But if we win, will the narrative be that we are awesome, crushing a great team, or that the boys were pretenders?

Did he say was winning? Hey just come talk to me Sunday at 430. Hey I want to win just don’t see it this week sorry for hurting feelings!

Dallas isn't some juggernaut, they could have very well lost to the Chargers and be sitting at 1-2 right now.

They haven't face a defense playing as good as ours yet. Their success is predicated on them being able to run the ball. The Panthers have the best run defense in the league so far.

On paper this is the worst pass defense we will have faced. So having McCaffrey out may not be as huge of a blow as otherwise.  Their saving grace on defense has been turnovers. Protect the ball and there are plays to be made on their defense.  They've allowed over 300 yards passing to all 3 of their opponents including Jalen Hurts and the suspect Eagles offense.

Yeah when people say we wasn’t winning but a couple games. All I’m saying is we will lose to a great team on the road. Damn y’all really think we going to win every game?

I had us at around 9 wins. This will be a hard fought game but Dallas isn't exactly a juggernaut. It will come down to protecting Sam but our defense will continue to put in work and make Dak's life miserable.

This week is tough for me. Both of my Favorite teams are playing each other ( I also like the Texans and Browns). I have been a Dallas Fan since I was a kid ( I grew up 2 miles from were current Cowboys Stadium is) I obviously have converted too a Panthers fan. I am going for the Panthers on this one.

Better teams? I’m not a Cowboys fan but they should be 3-0 if not for terrible calls in Bucs game. They went to west coast and beat a great Chargers team. I’m sorry but this will be our first lost. Just being honest.

This is what I was thinking as well.  Carolina beat the Jets, Saints and Texans.  The Jets are garbage, the Saints are a little above average imo, and the Texans are hot garbage.

Dallas loss a close one against the Bucs, the Superbowl champions aided by terrible calls, went into LA and beat a tough Chargers team, and beat up on a bad Eagles team.  Their strength of schedule thus far, was tougher than Carolina's.

All good points, I just think crowd will affect our oline, refs will probably help Cowboys. All I’m saying is I just think it could be our first loss. If nobody agrees fine I don’t care it’s just my opinion.

So now you've changed from "This WILL be our first loss" to "This COULD be our first loss". I hope you notice the difference. We very well might lose but to come in here and say it as if it's guaranteed is dumb.

It's a fair opinion, road game against a team more than likely will be in the playoffs.

I just think this game will be closer than many think. All the signs are pointing in favor of the Panthers. Dallas having a short week, coming off a blowout win over their division rival. Every body telling them have great they are all week, now here comes a well rested team with the #1 defense in the league can Dallas keep that intensity going for 2 weeks straight without smelling themselves, Panthers are the wrong team to have a let down against.

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
