Panthers Week 5 Predictions

4. Panthers defense stifles the Eagles run game

The Eagles can’t seem to get their rushing attack going regardless. Even so, the Panthers have done a decent job at slowing down the run (until they played the Dallas Cowboys). Philadelphia has had a hard time stringing together consecutive drives this year and the Panthers will look to exploit their weak run game.

3. Chuba Hubbard puts up a modest 80+ rushing yards and 1 touchdown

Christian McCaffrey will come back to the lineup soon, but it’d be wise of the coaching staff to sit him out for one more week. This would give Chuba Hubbard another chance to prove himself in the NFL. He’d been consistent with his opportunities, which has helped the Panthers maintain their rushing attack.

He’s struggled in the passing game though, which hindered Carolina against the Cowboys. However, the Eagles don’t have the best defense in the world. For this reason, Chuba Hubbard could be in for a solid performance on Sunday. A consistent attack out of the backfield should be enough for the Panthers to control the clock and win the game.

2. DJ Moore goes off for 125+ receiving yards and 2 touchdowns

DJ Moore is very clearly the top target in Carolina. Through four games, Moore has already recorded 30 receptions for 398 yards and three touchdowns. He has a tough matchup against the Eagles though, as Darius Slay is bound to shadow him throughout the contest. Even so, look for the Panthers to get creative and find ways to get the ball to DJ Moore.

1. Sam Darnold continues his hot streak

He has to be in the running for Comeback Player of the Year with how he’s performed to start the season. Sam Darnold is a completely different quarterback under Matt Rhule. Due to Darnold’s consistency, the Panthers’ offense has been much more efficient compared to last season. He could be in for a big game and should lead Carolina to a victory over the Eagles.

We play pissed off after last weeks loss.

Sam passes for 350+ and 3 TD's, gets another on the ground. 1 int.

Robby gets his first 100 yard game.

Hubbard rushes for 80+ yards.

D gets 4 turnovers.

And the INT happens because he thought he saw the missing half of his couch in the stands.   Whoops!🥴

My bold prediction is the D doesn’t look good for a second straight game. I think the run defense got exposed in the last game. The Eagles might not be able to exploit it as well as the Cowboys did but with Shaq out I think the Eagles put up points.

Sam is going to have to win this game on his own. If he plays turnover free it’s a Panthers win.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
