I don’t remember Cam having a worse game.

Delhomme yes

Moore no

Clausen yes because he’s the worst QB of all time

Teddy yes out of sheer cowardice

I do agree though we need to see if he can respond.

Teddy never had a game this bad, and he was having to chase points last season, because our defense was rebuilding and we couldn't stop the run or get off the field on 3rd downs. Sam's been gifted with leads and dominant defensive play and we're eeking out wins against bottom feeders and this Sunday that snake finally bit us.

I saw Teddy go toe to toe with Mahomes and KC with a way less talented Panthers team. I see Sam needed this defense to play wall to wall for 4 quarters to even have a chance in these games.

Anderson is running lazy routes.

Yep abd when he gets the chance, he drops the ball

signed the wrong player but hey, that Baylor connection

there was not one slant or screen or misdirection of any type that I recalled seeing yesterday

I do remember seeing one handoff to the left and Sam running to the right that Sam could have walked in for a TD if he had kept the ball.  That play  was never called again

then  again, I might have been ordering drinks at the bar

I’m on my phone but all you have to do is look at the game film to see all the open receivers today. Sorry your boy just can’t do it.

You should also be able to see on your phone the beating Darnold took in the pocket as the line collapsed time and time again.

One game and everyone ready to send him to the guillotine. How about let’s see how the season goes before we pass judgement?

He needs to play like he knows how to be an NFL QB.

What I saw was as if one of US put on his Jersey, and went out there in his place.

Also, Talk is cheap.    Sam puts the loss on him(and he should) but he needs to now go out there Next Sunday against the Vikings and put on a NOT-SUCKY performance (and help the team win the game) to begin to remove the stench of this game from our memories.

It's a MUST-WIN for him, imo.

'Cause if he doesn't play well, what else is going to say in the next Presser?   More of the same sh-t?

He's a fourth year pro not a first year rookie this is who he has been the concern is valid.

I and a few other astute posters warned about all the users here talking about a franchise QB while he was beating up on bad teams, we were name called of course but Sam is what he has always been, a low to mid tier game manager at best, probably around the 25th or so best starting QB in the league, at best.  That's what he's being paid like so it makes sense.  but the O-line didn't throw at least 2 of those egregious picks yesterday, is not causing him to throw into too tight coverage, sail passes over wide open receivers' heads, miss easy open targets on his progression.

it's Y4, not Y1, this is who he is and always has been and always will be

All I want to find out by the end of the season is whether Sam has any future with this team or not.

At this point, it's looking kind of Iffy, to say the least.

I'm not a big Bridgewater fan. But, I do think he would have made some of the throws that Sam missed and he wouldn't have walked off the field with 3 INTs.

I actually would have been cool riding with Teddy for another year and using the 2022 draft to find our franchise QB. If he panned out, the new guy could've been handled the reigns midway thru the 2022 season or at the start of 2023.

That said, I think it still too early to throw the towel in on Darnold. In our last 9 games we've only scored 17 points in the 3rd quarter. That problem began before Darnold joined the team. The Panther just seem to lose all of their offensive momentum when they come out of the locker room at halftime. That's not all on the QB. Yesterday's game is not included.

Behold the carnage:

Bridgewater wouldn't have thrown as many picks because he didn't have the balls to try risky throws.

Throwing two yard passes when you need six or seven yards may not turn the ball over, but it doesn't exactly win games either.

    • And that’s where a lot of people struggle to see it with Bryce Bryce is never physically going to “wow” anyone. Which will ultimately keep him out of that elite QB tier.  Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Maye, Stafford People want to put Herbert in that tier because he’s the ultimate highlight type QB. Highlights in this day and age trump just about everything. I’m more inclined to put Dak in that category than Herbert.  Then there’s the tier before the elite group. That’s where I believe Young’s ceiling is. Which is fine. You better have a good team and a good coach around these types though.  I believe Bryce has a higher ceiling than Goff. Put Young on Detroit and that team has a higher ceiling. Would also have a lower floor but you’d take that.  Bryce doesn’t have many true ‘wtf’ moments. He definitely did his rookie year. Granted the bulk of his “supporting cast” and HC are out of the league now and were well on their way out when the arrived here.  Due to lack of physical traits and what made Bryce good at Bama this NFL thing was and still is going to take time with him. He’s adjusting to NFL defenses.  So sure, we’re kind of in a pickle. Do we keep Bryce and have something like the 10th best QB in the league paired with Canales whose ceiling is probably similar at his position or do we keep doing what we’ve been doing since 2017? This team has been an absolute mess since Tepper took over. He’s finally seeing some wins. I’m all for spending a day 3 pick every year on a QB with traits. But for the time being Young is definitely our best option in 2026 and it would be tough to imagine us having a better option at this point in 2027 as well I know how much the huddle loves charts but this wasn’t happening his rookie year. This chart is 2 weeks old but point remains. It’s also why I said Dalton would be useless against Buffalo. Bryce has done a real good job at avoiding sacks this year and then making something happen. Bryce is fully capable of giving you those 4-5 big plays you need from a QB a game. Those 4-5 big plays just look a lot different than the 4-5 big highlight type plays you get from those physically gifted QB’s
    • 5 games without a turnover, the defense has surprised me a lot this year. Second to last in sacks, yet still getting the job done, impressive.
    • Dave “Uncanny” Canales His choices are often inexplicable, but work absurdly well about half the time.
