At what point do they just have to bench Darnold?

His first game was bad, but he has been better each game after even with Nagy. Rookies throwing INTs is one thing, but QBs that have been in the league for years is frustrating…

Nagy no longer calls the plays for him. It’s helped.

It's why I wanted to make the move for Minshew. A 6th for a legit secondary option was a no brainer IMO. We have no one to realistically turn to. Walker isn't the answer.

Should've never traded for him. Stand pat and draft a QB at 8, trade up IF needed shouldbhave been the play.

QB is too important not to take one at the top when available.

Everyone here knows I was staunchly against trading for Darnold. We had a chance to atone for it when Fields was there. We had a chance to add a legit backup by trading a late round pick for Minshew. When we passed on Fields and neglected to add Minshew, we were effectively all in on Sam Darnold. Now here we are. We just gotta ride it out.

This shows the ineptitude of the decision makers, I appreciate the emphasis on defense, but Darnold even aside from Gase at best as meh.

The FO talked about QB bust rate, but then trade multiple picks for a BUST QB 🤔, can't make it up

This. Yeah, plenty of 1st rounders end up busting. But VERY few reclamation projects ultimately end up working out. Especially outright bust reclamation projects.

    • And even worse you have injuries force you to play anther one dimensional train wreck combine that with Orlov being no were close to as advertised and boom you have 3 defensemen being dressed who couldn't defend my 96 year old grandmother. That said next year having Slavin,Miller,Nikishin,Chatfield gives you the best shutdown d man in the league two large athletic HIGH offensive potential D who can take away time and space....   The more I think about it the more I like this seasons approach, if you bring back burns or aquire anther large RHS with length you have 5 D all over 6'2 and 210 with three of them having great offense too, make no mistake they want size and skill on the blue line now and its almost 100% directed at getting past FL.
    • Honestly the 2024 draft class(minus brooks). All are in line to be starters, expect crumedy who's fighting for a 53.  Still that class was looking terrible, is now looking like 4 starters and maybe 1 depth. Anytime you draft 2 starters and a key depth piece its a good draft. 4 starters are rare and that's with brooks who could have made 5 starters if not for awful luck.  That draft also helped land starter Michael Jackson in a round about way, big bonus..
